This is a tour designed for travelers, who seek to step further than most and feel like real explorers. Combine an ice cave visit with an adventurous hike, as you venture deep into the glacier. You will visit blue ice caves and canyons, which most people don't go to. By hiking further we manage to stay away from the crowds. On this tour there is also plenty of time for photography without feeling rushed. The tour starts with a 40 min 4x4 ride to the glacier. After arriving at the glacier's esge we gear up and set off for the glacier hike. Expect to spend 3 - 3,5 hours on the glacier and in the caves. If the conditions allow we try to visit more spectacular formations, such as ice canyons, crevasses and moulins. The tour ends with a similar drive back to the starting point. You will come back feeling like an accomplished adventurer!

Geared up, we will explore both the lower and upper ice caves where your photographer will capture you inside these natural wonders.  Once through the lower cave, which is named Sapphire Ice Cave, we will gear up for our hike on the glacier. With crampons on, we will hike to many different formations on the glacier including our famous crystal crevasses. The visuals you will see all around you will create an unimaginable experience as your photographer captures you amongst it. At the end of your tour, we will edit your photos and you will get a photo package within 14 days as the perfect souvenir to remember your epic adventure in Iceland!

An extra-small group tour to an ice cave located on Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier. This tour is operated by a small, local company. You'll meet your licensed guide at Jökulsárlón. From there it's an approximately 35 minute drive in a 4x4 truck to the glacier parking. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the edge of the glacier. There we put on crampons and start a 45 minute hike on the ice towards the ice cave. We usually spend around 30-45 minutes in the cave, taking plenty of photos and exploring the various formations in the cave.

You will meet your certified glacier guide before the start of the tour. There you will receive all the necessary equipment, crampons, helmet, harness and an ice axe. You can choose if you start with the kayaking at the Glacier Lagoon or the amazing hike up the Breidamerkurjokull Glacier. The Glacier Lagoon is famous for it's floating icebergs on the blue glacier water. In this tour you will have the chance to float around the icebergs with your expert guide who will show you all around the lagoon. After your tour on the Glacier Lagoon you will have a short break before hopping on a super jeep which will take you to the edge of the Breidamerkurjokull Glacier. After a short walk you will hike up the amazing glacier which surrounds the Glacier Lagoon. There you will learn about the features of the glacier and how the glacier has changed the last few years. Join Sindri, a local guide with over 10 years of experience, for an early morning Ice Cave Photography Tour. Running from October to April, this 3.5–4 hour tour is designed for photographers looking to capture the unique formations of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. The tour begins at 7:00 AM at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. From there, a 30-minute drive takes you closer to the glacier, followed by a 20–25 minute walk to the ice cave. Inside, you’ll have 1.5–2 hours to photograph its stunning blue walls and intricate formations, with additional opportunities in the surrounding area. Please dress warmly and bring a camera and tripod. Tours are weather-dependent and may include other groups, but Sindri will guide you in making the most of your experience. Spaces are limited, so book early to secure your spot.

Your journey begins upon arrival at Höfn Airport (flight not included) with a scenic drive along Iceland’s breathtaking southeast coast. Continue on to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where floating icebergs create one of the country’s most iconic landscapes. You will then head towards Blue Ice Cave.
