This is a whole day excursion very different from the rest in the area. The site is located in the middle steppe just halfway between El Calafate and El Chaltén. Throughout the walk you can see a large number of petrified logs that lie on the surface, some 70 million years old, some with a diameter of 1.20 m. Occasionally fossil remains of different types of dinosaurs are discovered.

Visiting the southernmost fishing village, enjoying its exquisite marine gastronomy and sailing to meet the charismatic penguins is a unique plan. Beginning with National Route No. 3, we cross the Fueguino valleys surrounded by mountains, turbulence and winter centers that dazzle along the way. Then we take Provincial Route J, a path surrounded by centuries-old forests towards the coast of the Beagle Channel. Along the way, we look at marine production areas, such as mussel cultivation and scentolla traps, known here as the "red gold". From the pier in Puerto Almanza, we embark on a zodiac to navigate the Beagle Channel to Isla Martillo, home to Magellanic penguins and Papua. We observe them in their natural and wild environment. Finally we return to the village to enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, tasting fresh produce from the region, closing this unforgettable experience before returning.

The calm waters of this beach attract whales, which choose to rest near the coast. This phenomenon allows our visitors to witness the impressive spectacle of the whales at a surprisingly close distance from the shore, providing a truly exceptional land-based viewing experience. Participants have the opportunity to admire the majesty of these magnificent marine mammals in their natural habitat without the need to venture into the sea.

Departure from the hotel towards the Tierra Mayor Valley, in this great snow-covered valley we begin the journey in sleds pulled by Huskies, after crossing the valley we enter the forest by an old lumberjack path, in the middle of this hundred-year-old Lenga forest we arrive at the refuge del Hachero (small log cabin heated by firewood). We say goodbye to the Huskies and our guide helps us put on our snowshoes (without which we would not be able to walk due to the thickness of the snow that normally reaches a meter), the objective: The Alvear Icefall and the Valle viewpoint, the Returning to the refuge is faster and more fun since it is downhill and culminates in the Hachero refuge. In the refuge we recover energy with a hot chocolate. From the logger's refuge we return to the Tierra Mayor valley walking with snowshoes.

An opportunity to discover the prehistory of South America through this cave with 9300-year-old cave paintings and to understand the dynamics of the first men, hunters, and gatherers who inhabited Patagonia.
