You'll be surrounded by the sea as well as endemic vegetation such as the erica azorica. The trail is short, on average it will take approx. 2h30, is of moderate difficulty, and is not flat (difference of approx. 50m-70m in altitude).

The trail is situated in the centre of Terceira island and along the way we will observe the endemic flora of the Azores, large pastures and even some of the island´s fauna. Today's main attraction is “Rocha de Chambre ", a vertical wall located at 708m above sea level with a splendid view over Azinhal valley, Pico Alto. After this climb, time to admire the view from the Pico das Caldeirinhas and Pico Vermelho volcanic caldera. The last part of the trail passes along a dry stone wall in an area dominated by Azorean heather, an endemic floral specie. After lunch, time to get amazed with Algar do Carvão, a volcanic chimney that is, without doubt, the best known volcanic cave in the Azores.
