Every staff member seemed genuinely happy to be there and took the time to make guests feel welcome, which is something that’s become quite rare in the city.The food matched the warmth of the service. The portions were generous, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The highlight for me was the Bienenstich cake—light, creamy, and just sweet enough. It tasted homemade in the best possible way. The beer selection was great, and everything arrived quickly despite how busy the place was.Whether you come for hearty German classics or just dessert and a drink, Restaurant 1840 delivers both quality and hospitality. If you’re someone who really values amazing and genuinely friendly service, this is the place to go. The German pork knuckle and curry sausage platter recommended by the staff member FaFi were both delicious! The pork knuckle had crispy skin and was full of gelatin on the inside! The meat remained tender and juicy! The sausages were also very tasty, with a rich curry flavor! FaFi was also very friendly! If you're visiting Berlin, I highly recommend dining here!

How come no one told me about this restaurant before and it's not viral on social media? It's simply DELICIOUS! Definitely the best food in Berlin! Beautiful restaurant, clean bathroom, tasty food, and friendly waiters... I stayed in Berlin for 3 days and went there twice, and I regret not going more often. I truly recommend it!"

Good selection , nice drinks. The food we had was not very warm which we explained to the server. He did apologise but we didn't get offered to have the bill adjusted. We are glad we went there but wouldn't go back

Lovely restaurant that offers tourist a taste of old fashioned German food. There are plenty of seats available and the service is good. Food is appropriately priced (more expensive) for such a central location and is tasty but not outstanding.
