I usually don’t write bad reviews — if I don’t like a place, I just don’t say anything. But this one was just too much. The waiters were really kind, but the food was awful. We ordered a Philly sushi roll and a Buddha bowl, but the rice was like a horrible mushy paste. When we told the guy at the counter, he said he’d already brought it up with the kitchen, but they just keep making it that way. He didn’t even offered to change the order or a discount We also ordered an açaí bowl and it came out like soup. The menu said it came with strawberries and banana, but they brought it with pineapple without asking — and my son doesn’t like pineapple. When we pointed out that the menu said strawberries, they just said they didn’t have any. Then we got the ceviche trio, and the shrimp cocktail had barely any shrimp — they were tiny — and it was drowning in pink sauce. On top of all that, the prices are super high. Definitely felt like a tourist trap

Unbelievable find. Friendly staff, great upstairs seating, and the one of the best meals we’ve had during our 12 days in Bocas. Wonderful authentic flavor with huge simple servings. Nice wine selection with other drinks available. You are greeted at the street level and directed to the stairs leading you to a comfortable dining room with balcony seating. Just wonderful. Revisited again this place just gets better each time. We rarely visit a place more then twice on a trip, there are so many places in Bocas, but the Tacu Tacu ( fish and pollo) is out of this world as are the Wantones Chupetones. The name is just a fun name with many meanings. Just arrive, order anything, and enjoy.

Easily the best food and drink we had during our week in Bocas del Toro. A lot of the food in Bocas is good (but simple) seafood or chicken with rice and beans, patacones, or French fries. My wife & I have spent 20 years each working in restaurants and this was our favorite meal. Peruvian food in general is wonderful - and Pepe Chupete’s delivery was perfect. We had a trio of ceviches, some wantons, and a fish dish and each one was fantastic. Expertly prepared, delicious sauces, wonderful compositions - and the best cocktail I’ve had in a long time (and I’ve bartended for 20 years!). Get the Pisco Sour with the wild berries and you’ll still be thinking of it tomorrow.

So highly recommended here in bockers. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. It is tidy and clean, very friendly staff, but for me as a Bavarian, the portions are unfortunately too small, but as is usual here, the price is right for the circumstances. Have fun. No German card

What an incredible spot! The restaurant has a great, slightly upscale casual atmosphere with amazing food. I got the fried fish and was not expecting such a large portion (with a mango and tomato salad, patacones, and rice) but the fish was fried to perfection. The banana and passion fruit juice was also a perfect complement to the meal. I will definitely return the next time I’m in Bocas!
