What a great find! We were just walking by when a bright neon sign caught our eye, so we decided to check it out. The atmosphere was amazing. Warm, inviting, and full of character. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. From the thoughtful design to the delicious food, it truly felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. Such a wonderful experience! I had a decent breakfast at Alkoaa with my friend Bryan from the USA, giving it a 3 out of 5 stars. The spread included fresh, fluffy naan bread, a well-cooked sunny-side-up egg with a runny yolk, tasty scrambled eggs mixed with tomatoes and peppers, a creamy yogurt dip with veggies, and crispy falafel topped with sesame seeds. The Spanish latte was a nice touch, offering a rich espresso flavor balanced with smooth milk that complemented the meal. The tablecloth’s unique pattern added a cultural feel to the setting. Bryan enjoyed it too, especially the falafel, which was new to him! However, while the portions were generous, something felt a bit off—maybe the service or consistency could improve. It’s a good spot to try, but there’s room for enhancement. Feel free to tweak it with any specific feedback slow service to reflect why you gave it 3 stars! I was captivated by the ambiance of this restaurant in the photos when I was searching for breakfast places in the area so I decided to give it a try. The traditional Arabic vibe is phenomenal however when I ordered shakshouka, spicy falafel and Alexandrian foul (one of each), I waited for over an hour. It shouldn’t take that long to prepare these foods and there wasn’t even that much customers when I placed my order. I also ate at Oldish restaurant a day prior and the order (of almost the same food) was served in less than 10 minutes. Moreover upon arrival of the order I was given the cheese falafel instead of the spicy one. The food wasn’t even hot so I assumed it was just seating somewhere instead of being delivered to my table. The server was polite and kept apologizing so it eased my frustration a bit but to be honest I’ve lost my appetite already and not even the traditional ambiance can make up for this incident. I was supposed to go somewhere before my pickup arrives but I had to cancel it because it took my time waiting for the order to come. Don’t get me wrong, I really love dining at these kinds of restaurants with traditional setup when I’m in an Arab country, the food was typical, my server was so nice but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant from what I experienced today. Please do improve on these aspects for your future customers.

Don’t be scared by the crazy stairs and abandoned building, inside there’s a little gem…it’s worth trying! I had the vegetable casserole and lentil soup and everything was perfect. Big portions and great flavors. Will never forget this meal. And also affordable! My favorite thing was the mint tea. Love from Mexico.

Wonderful selection of Egyptian food. I came for breakfast twice and loved it. Staff is friendly and usually speak English. It is a cosy atmosphere with such unique decor.
