Getting around Flores is wonderfully simple, as the entire island is quite walkable. For longer distances on the island or to reach the mainland, tuk-tuks are readily available and quite affordable. To explore the wider Petén region, including Tikal, El Mirador, and other archaeological sites, shared shuttles (colectivos) and private taxis are common options departing from the mainland side of Flores. Negotiate fares beforehand for taxi services. Renting a car is also possible but often unnecessary for navigating Flores itself.
