Lovely dining experience in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Located in the lively Old Quarter, I originally had a 5pm reservation but decided to dine earlier as I was hungry. The waitress, Kate, was warm and friendly, making me feel very welcome. Since I was dining alone, I found it a bit difficult to order a variety of dishes.I ordered an appetizer and a main, which turned out to be more than enough. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was elegant, and sitting by the window offered a great view of Hanoi’s vibrant, bustling streets. I was also served a mini welcome drink, which was a lovely touch and tasted great. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I’d definitely come back again when I’m in Hanoi. The place take cash but if you use credit card or debit card you'll be charged and additional 3% of service charge. This restaurant claim to be the authentic Vietnamese restaurant. I think they've come pretty close. I like the soft shell Crab roll and the shrimp and mango roll. The beef roll was just okay nothing special. The soup is edible not really outstanding. The mushroom salad I didn't realize it's basically all mushroom different types but it does taste good. The duck Pho, The soup base is good but there's a lot to be improve on. First of all they use a cast iron teapot to hold the soup. Problem is that if the teapot it's cold and you pour hot soup into the teapot the soup itself gets lukewarm when it's ready to serve. That's what happened The first time they serve me and I had them take it back because I don't like to eat lukewarm pho. I understand the teapot is for show but if they have heat up the teapot with the soup in it and once the soup is boiling it will keep it hot for a long time. This restaurant is not cheap either compared to surrounding restaurant serving similar Vietnamese food. For granted that their flavor and taste are indeed better but the price different it's something to consider. I relied on Google a lot for my end Oct Hanoi trip and I want to give back. Love this place. Came for lunch upon a recommendation from a friend. Prices are higher than other restaurants. However, the service and food was value for money. We had the spring roll combo, black pepper beef, lacquered pork ribs, duck pho and bun cha. They are all so delicious. We all had a different favourite. When I return again, I will order black pepper beef, lacquered pork ribs and bun cha again and try other dishes. Will definitely be coming back here in next Hanoi trip. *already missing the bun cha Pro tip: Make reservations to guarantee a seat at your preferred timing. They cater to tour groups too so sometimes large tables are taken up but they have more than one level.

We found this on passing by and saw great reviews on google. I would say it is a Vietnamese fusion food restaurant. Chef has made a twist of tradition vietnamese with western change. In our view not bold at all on flavour. Food is average. We had braised sturgeon with young tamarind, soft spring rolls with soft-shell crab, grilled black chicken with tumeric and grilled pork ribs with five spices. All in fair amount and with mild spices. We asked for soy sauce and fresh chili. Nice spot to sit in. We had red wine, which was good. Staff is all kind and friendly. We had a good evening, but not because of the food. For authentic vietnamese food, one should look elsewhere.

I had such a wonderful meal at Lan Ong Restaurant! The grilled pork noodles were absolutely delicious — full of flavour and perfectly balanced. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and they made sure everything was just right. I really liked the cosy, local atmosphere and how clean and comfortable it felt inside. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel at ease. Definitely one of my favourite meals in Hanoi — I’d happily come back again!
