Coorg Plantation Walks: Karnataka's Coffee & Spice Trails

Our Plantation tour gives insight about Coffee cultivation and traces the process of the coffee bean from, plantation to cup. The tour starts with short walk through the plantation. Along this trail, visitors learn about the growth of coffee plants, from seedlings in nurseries to the time they are planted and picked in the plantations. The tour ends with visit to the host’s house and learns about various blends and tasting the flavors of Coffee, Coorg has to offer. The tour is conducted by local farmer who has experience in cultivation for more than 20 years.

Mercara Gold Estate is a beautiful 12-acre estate located 8 KM from Madikeri. Whilst coffee was growing here since the 1960s we acquired it in 1998 and began a process of transformation by organising it into a well laid out farm with a wide array coffee, spices and fruit trees. Our vision was to develop Mercara Gold Estate into a fully-integrated unit, we began processing and roasting our coffees on the estate. We follow all time-tested processes with passion to produce our own range of boutique style coffee and well-balanced blends. Starting 19th September 2023, we add a new attraction to our estate, The Mercara Gold Estate - World Coffee Museum! Themed to trace the history of coffee from birth and era to present day, this museum will give visitors the most immersive coffee experience ever!

In Karkala, the giant statue of Lord Bahubali attracts Jain pilgrims from far and wide. In Moodabidri, visit the famous 1000-pillared Jain Temple dedicated to Chandranatha. This is the largest Jain temple in coastal Karnataka with richly carved pillars and no two pillars in this temple are alike. Stop At: Anegundi Fort, Tungabhadra, Angegundi Village, Hampi India Towards the evening we will visit Anegundi village for the cave paintings. The paintings here date back to the Iron Age around 1500 BC.
