Bavel is one of my favorite restaurants in LA for upscale Middle Eastern food. Their sister spot, Bestia, is always busy, but I think Bavel is more unique. The menu is tapas-style, so everything is meant to be shared. I’ve been twice this year and both visits were great. Some standout dishes were the hummus duck ’nduja with blistered pita, chicken liver paté, and the oyster mushroom kebab, which was so flavorful it didn’t even taste like mushrooms. The grilled prawns were loaded with flavor, the wagyu beef cheek tagine was tender and rich, and the lamb neck shawarma was perfect for making your own wraps. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a warm, modern vibe, and the service is always on point. Street parking is free if you can find it, but valet is available if you’d rather not deal with it. If you love Middle Eastern flavors or just want a memorable dining experience in LA, Bavel is definitely worth checking out. Brought my dad here to try something new for Father's Day and we were not disappointed! The aromatics and flavor of the food were foreign to us and very enjoyable. Most definitely one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I have ever been to with unique and exotic flavors. The oyster mushroom kebab was surprisingly divine and my favorite dish. And for such a lively location, the servers are exceptionally professional and friendly. Will be back with friends to try what we didn't get to try at first because I was so indecisive with all the options; they all sound delectable! Highly recommend! It’s been an LA hot spot for a long time for a reason. That being said, make sure to make a reservation in advance on OpenTable. There were zero misses - highlights were the lamb (just fell apart and melts in your mouth), trout crudo, and the oyster mushroom kebab. Ambiance is on point too with the greenery and overall buzz of the restaurant.

Incredible place! We love all of the restaurants this group owns and they never disappoint. Must orders are the prawns and salmon crudo with coconut broth. Maybe also the calamari :) Service is so kind and attentive. The interior is gorgeous. Amazing place!

🔥🍷🍋🥙🇮🇱🇲🇦 Bavel – Los Angeles If you can get a reservation — GO. This place is pure magic. I’ve been twice now, and both times I left thinking, this might be one of the best restaurants in LA. You walk in and immediately feel the energy — the open kitchen is like a perfectly tuned machine. The cooks are flying, grilling, chopping, plating — everyone working together like clockwork. You can smell the fire, the spices, the bread baking right in front of you. It’s hypnotic. We sat at the bar both times (best seats in the house) and just watched the show. The Chicken Liver Pâté is unreal — smooth, rich, perfect. The Baba Ghanoush and Farm Cheese spreads are amazing, and that fresh pita coming straight from the oven… pure heaven. 🥗 Don’t skip the Marinated Olives, Moroccan Carrots, or the Tuna Kibbeh Nayeh — they’re all incredible. The Oyster Mushroom Kebab? Wow. Just wow. If you’re lucky and they have it, grab the Dry-Aged Trout Crudo before it sells out. 🥘 If you’re really hungry, go for the Lamb Shawarma or the Whole Lamb Rack — both are shareable and unforgettable. Someone next to us ordered the Oxtail Tagine, and I’m already planning my next visit just to try it. Everything here feels thoughtful — the food, the service, the pacing, the music, the vibe. It’s one of those rare places that’s elegant but not stuffy, busy but not rushed, and every bite tastes like someone really cares. 🔥 Must orders: Chicken Liver Pâté, Farm Cheese, Moroccan Carrots, Oyster Mushroom Kebab, and Lamb Shawarma. 🍷 Pro tip: Sit at the bar, order a glass of wine, and just enjoy the show. Second time here — already dreaming about the third.
