This 3-hour food excursion of Nafplio takes you to carefully selected food shops, where you taste some of the finest cheeses, wines, coffee and ice cream available in the city. At the same time we visit the most famous monuments of the city, such as the Catholic Church, the square of St. Spyridon, the square of Saint George and the Old City which introduce us to the long and wonderful history of the city.

Nemea is the largest and oldest wine region in Greece. The wines produced here are of high quality while there are some varieties which are unique in the world such as the red "Agiorgitiko" . There are dozens of wineries to visit, each with its own varieties and wine labels. We have chosen those that will offer you the best wine tasting experience and we will visit two them! Nemea is also known in mythology for Hercules who killed the vicious Lion that lived in the area and Nemean Games, dedicated to Zeus and familiar to the Olympic games. So there can be an optional visit to the archaeological site of ancient Nemea

Joining our tour you will visit one of the oldest and most important cities in Greece, Corinth and an area with great history and long tradition in wine making, Nemea. By walking through the village of anc. Corinth you can get to know its long history, from the ancient times (Temple of Apollo) to the Roman times (roofed passages, public baths) and the Christian times, during which Apostle Pavlos (Saul) taught at its market. In the archaeological museum of the city will have the chance to admire interesting findings. The tour continues in Nemea, known since the ancient years for organizing the great local games “Nemean”, but also known by a famous fable, according to which Nemea was the place where Hercules killed the terrifying lion, that had been devouring the state, and thus completed his first task. We will visit the archaeological site, the stadium and Temple of Zeus right next to wineyards and wineries. This will be a day full of history and nature.

We’ll get on the car and first drive to the famous Corinth Canal. I will give you information about its history and take a lot of photos. Second stop will be the ancient Theater of Epidaurus. This construction is known to be the most perfect sample of an ancient theater in Greece and one of the most amazing ones in the world, from a symmetry and perfect acoustics point of view. we will do an acoustic experiment and explain the connection of theater to medical science in the ancient years. Next stop will be the picturesque and seaside city of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece. We will explore together the old city and discover its hidden beauties, talking at the same time about its history. We will see the historic buildings, the squares and Palamidi, the castle above the city. Then there is the possibility of lunch in the old town. Finally we will visit the archaeological site of Mycenae where we will admire the tombs of the Kings, the great Walls and the museum.

We cooperate with 2 families who are located 40 min drive from Nafplio in a mountainous village, 700 meters altitude. The village is one of the highlights in our region where locals hang out and where you can eat authentic , village food. One family has a restaurant-local tavern and the other one owns a home with a wooden oven.What we are going to do; We drink fresh water at the spring fountain at the village square while we do an introduction about this place. Continuing we drink a mountain tea with honey and a panoramic view of the mountains and the village.Afterwards aprons on and hands on , to start making 2 recipes :The famous Greek tzatziki and Gemista (Stuffed vegetables with sauce and rice) As soon as we finish you will walk just 5 min from the restaurant to meet the second 'chef'-housewife-Greek grandmother (yiayia in Greek)You are going to learn how to cook a cheese pie making your own phyllo and learning how to cook it in a wooden oven-Slow cooking-
