Was craving some Italian. I saw this place when I arrived and tonight I checked it out. I had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, wasn't go viral famous but I also don't like to follow the trends. I follow the locals. My server Ed made the recommendation and I am glad I listened. The Ragu was a great choice! The pasta is made in house fresh! Ed was responsive and understanding. I am a picky wine drinker, he offered for me to try a few samples and even when I made a selection and later decided it was not right for me. He picked up on my dislike. Ed was focused on making my experience memorable. As I dine alone and travel the world I often observe the atmosphere. Ed gave all his tables excellent service, and , I must admit the entire staff I saw working as a team which is always refreshing. I would rather dine at place with good food and exceptional service than the other way around. Because when the service is good the food tastes better. I don't usually get a dessert, however, I splurged and I ordered the lemon sponge. Public Italian, please make this a signature and never take it off menu. I want to come back in 5 yrs and be able to remember through food the memories Of tonight. Highly recommend for others to check this place out. Arrive early so you can get the patio. It's right on the lake and stunning. But even inside where I was sitting was lovely. I appreciated that it wasn't loud, it was cozy like you're eating with family.

Amazing experience from start to finish! I will be dreaming about the seafood pasta for years to come, the best pasta dish I have ever eaten in my life!! The garlic bread was also delicious and we tried the flight of beers to get a taste of the local brew. Given we were walk ins the team were so accommodating and the service from Lily was wonderful. The views over the lake are incredible and the restaurant so cosy. Wish I wasn’t leaving Queenstown so I could go back again to try more dishes, the menu has so much to offer.

this is my first time coming to this restaurant. my friend told me it's the best restaurant in the town so I came and have a try. Thanks to Molly she explain the menu to us very carefully. She was very considerate and tidied up the empty plates for us, brought us paper towels, and in general, the service was very good. The dishes in the restaurant are also very delicious. We have been in Queenstown for three days, and this restaurant is indeed the best we have eaten so far.

This restaurant was spectacular! Right on the water and with a perfect backdrop of the mountains and ever changing sky. And if you have allergies, never fear, our server Molly was perfect! She helped me to navigate the menu to satisfy all my needs giving me a meal that was to die for! Would recommend for a romantic spot!

Eli was our waiter when we went to the Public Kitchen and Bar. He was fabulous! We started out just having a glass of wine which he expertly guided us through then onto an outstanding unplanned dinner. Everything was absolutely top notch! Highly recommend ☺️ 6/10/2025
