Lovely restaurant / wine bar in Swakop. Funky vibey interior. We went for snack and had « Namibian sushi » - like a cross between beef tartare and carpaccio, mixed with herbs. It was amazing. Proper drinks were served properly! I had a « Grown up Pudding » - it was divine! Ginger crunch with rum soaked (and I mean soaked) raisins, with vanilla ice cream and chocolate mousse. I was in heaven. Great selection of sensibly priced SA wines. Friendly team. Well worth a visit.

Really nice restaurant with great wine and traditional Namibian dishes. We were a large group and were offered the large table in the private area, hence we had to wait quite a lot for the service as we were out of sight. But the waiters were lovely and we had a great experience.

Swakopmund itself is a beautiful coastal destination, and dining at Ankerplatz made my time there even more memorable. If you're looking for a real taste of Namibia in Swakopmund, Ankerplatz Restaurant & Wine Bar delivers a top-tier experience. The oryx steak was a highlight—perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of bold, wild flavor. The springbok pie was just as impressive, with a rich, savory filling and flaky pastry that made each bite memorable. The ambiance was warm and relaxed, the service attentive without being overbearing, and the wine list well-curated. An unforgettable meal that captures the spirit of local cuisine.

We had such a wonderful experience. The waiters and barman were so friendly and welcoming. The drinks were really great and we had really good pizza, burger and ribs. Had such a good experience we had to repeat this spot before returning home.
