On this tour we are going to discover Tetouan the most Andalusian city in Morocco. Like other cities and regions of Morocco, Tetouan appears on the scene of the 11th century history, founded by Muslims on a pre-existing Berber population. It served as a refuge and rear guard for troops in war times between Castile and Portugal. After a pick up, drive for an hour to Tetouan. At the arrival, we’ll drive through the new town and start the walking tour atthe Boulevard Mohamed V, to the Mechouar (Royal Palace), then enter the medina (walled city) from the Mellah, then walK through the medieval city visiting a berber market (ladies dresses) and keep walking till we’ll end up at Bab el Oukla and drive back to Tangier. In Tangier, we will see first the outskirts of the city, then walk through the Medina. We will see the Saint Andrews english church, the Gran socco square (9th of April) Where Mohamed V on april 9th, 1947, made a historical speech asking north african countries to apply for their independance. We ‘ll visit the fruits and vegetables market, the dry fruits market and go through the the narrow streets of the medina (14 centuries old city)ending up the tour having a mint tea in a typical café in the socco chico square.
