Been wanting to check this place out since it was first located in Casa Loma. But unfortunately they moved to this new location. Fortunately though, the ambiance and decor is beautiful so you won’t be disappointed in the least. We settled in their tasting menu $250 PP which was a selection of curated dishes. They also have other tasting menus if you’re looking for a more budget friendly option. One thing that is different compared to other restaurants is the whole table must order the same tasting menu in that category. So for example if you have wanted the $150 tasting menu than everyone at your table had to have the $150 menu, there was no choice of one person picking the $150 and another person choosing the $250 menu. So for our table of 7 people we all chose the $250, but they did allow for substitutions if you had an allergy or didn’t like something. Overall they accommodated us. Most of the dishes were absolutely amazing and although I didn’t particularly like one dish, I would say this is a go to restaurant to take a loved one for a birthday or other celebratory occasion. I think this is a Michelin rated restaurant so you can expect a great dining experience. $$$$

Just amazing. My husband and I went last week for date night and all I can say is that it was amazing!! The food was spectacular, from the plating to the flavors, just something we had never experienced before. We had the signature tasting menu and all the courses went so well together and were the perfect proportions to make us full but not too stuffed. Amanda was our server for the night and she did a great job. She was very sweet and explained each dish really well. We’re Muslims so she changed the tasting menu to account for that and gave us amazing dishes to swap with the dishes that contained alcohol or non-halal meat. And the dessert was just aaaamazing. I’m just sad I didn’t take a picture of it to show everyone :(

We had an incredible dining experience at Don Alfonso in Toronto. My fiancée and I were celebrating our recent engagement with my cousin Jon and his partner Matt, and it was the perfect setting for such a special evening. Our waiter Luca, originally from Rome and in Canada on a working holiday visa, was exceptional. His warm personality, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the menu made the night unforgettable. He brought a true Italian charm to the table that really stood out. The food was phenomenal — every course was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The service throughout the evening was top-notch, and the cocktails and wine pairings were excellent as well. Overall, Don Alfonso exceeded all expectations. Between the world-class cuisine, attentive service, and wonderful atmosphere, this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a Michelin-level meal in Toronto.

Wow! Perfect spot for an anniversary dinner for my sweets. This is a late review. Actual date of dine was Dec 20, 2024. Better late than never I hope! CONS: It can be hard to get a table. Book early. PROS: Get here early! Sit at the bar and be wowed by the mixology savants who man it. These two men know their job and are true showman but they also have an ability to build a report with each customer in minutes. It’s like dinner and a show just hanging at the bar so get here 45 minutes early and have a drink. The tasting menu is ridiculous! So many plates and each one more beautiful and delicious than the one before. We also enjoyed the wine pairing which worked well with each plate. If you get the pairing and come early for a drink plan on an Uber. This place is not inexpensive but is worth every penny for a special occasion. Finally you’ve got to see the bathrooms! Quite a view!

We went to Don Alfonso 1890 to celebrate our friend’s farewell as she’s moving to another country, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The ambiance was elegant yet warm, ideal for such a special evening. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour, from the starters to the desserts. The attention to detail in both food and service was exceptional. The combination of world-class cuisine, impeccable service, and thoughtful touches made this dinner unforgettable.
