About This Tour
Join us for the ultimate foodie experience as our tour guide takes you to on a journey to Lake Victoria. Before reaching the lake, we will make a couple of stops to try unique snacks and sample a traditional meal of luwombo, steamed in smoked banana leaves. We then continue on to a local fish market to feast on fresh fried fish. On the shores of beautiful Lake Victoria, you will venture off the beaten path to where the locals go for fresh Tilapia and Nile Perch. Our tour guide will accompany you while sharing the history of traditional Ugandan foods. You will have the option of strolling through the market to see how the food is prepared before sitting on the banks of Lake Victoria. Additionally, if you have a strong stomach, visit the fishing dock and processing plant where the fishermen come to auction off their fresh catch of the day and see where fish skin is rolled in salt and processed for exporting.
