We will start trip early in the morning from Nuwaraeliya. Horton plains National Park is located 32 km away from Nuwaraeliya, Pattipola road via Ambewela in the highest tableland of Sri Lanka. We will drive to the starting point of the Horton Plan National Park. From the starting point we will start hike through marvelous plateau is covered by Montane evergreen forests, Cloud forests, Grass lands, Marshy Lands and Aquatic eco systems. Horton Plains is one of the most important catchment areas which act as a giant sponge to store rain water. during the journey you can observe of large number of rare and as well as endemic flora and fauna species. The escarpment ‘Maha Lokanthaya ‘ ( Big Worlds End ) and the sparkling Baker’s falls are the amazing wonders which exceed the attractiveness of the plains. Blooming Nelu flowers once in 12 years of its life time vivid in indifferent colours is an unforgettable memory.After 9 km hiking trek we will ride back to Nuwaraeliya.
