About This Tour
This tour will visit Tomogashima, the starting point of Katsuragi Shugendo, where the first sutra mound is located, and the second sutra mound, the remains of Shinpukuji Temple. The main tour will be a "Shugendo Cruise" to see the Shugendo site on Tomogashima from the sea, and in the port town of Kata, the tour will visit places related to Shugendo such as "Ajigamine Gyoja-do" and "Kata Awashima Shrine". Meals will include fresh sea bream, a specialty of the area, and other delicacies from the sea. You can also experience bathing in the hot springs of Kada. This course includes a "Shugendo Cruise" accompanied by a Shugendo practitioner from the Shogoin Monzeki and a goma-burning asceticism experience.
