About This Tour
Join The Red Road Tour for a once-in-a-lifetime hike, followed by a wine, cheese, and cured meat tasting with a local and fully licensed guide. We will walk in the footsteps of the Etruscans, the ancient people who inhabited the ancient lands of Marrema, immersing ourselves in the vie cave (ancient streets dug into the tufaceous rock that reaches a depth of 25 meters) and following a circular route of about 6 km (3.7 miles.) Experience the secret walkways, caves, and tombs of these people who dug the paths to connect with the necropolises, also known as the ancient cities of the dead. The tour will end with a visit to a private historic cellar (featured in National Geographic) with a wine tasting and sampling of local cured meats and cheeses. The entire excursion will be an experiential journey that will involve the 5 senses, allowing you to experience and savor all the history and uniqueness of a territory. FROM NOVEMBER UNTIL BEGINNING OF APRIL THE TASTING WILL NOT BE INCLUDED.
