A forest that breathes history”. The jungle surrounding Iguazú is one of the last remnants of the Atlantic Forest, an endangered ecosystem.
The falls were discovered by the Spanish conquistador Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca in 1541. Today one of the falls bears his name.
“The coatis: the real hosts of the park”. Curious and bold, coatis often approach visitors... but beware! They should not be fed.
The Iguazu system is composed of 275 waterfalls, distributed along almost 3 km. The Iguazú and Paraná rivers mark the junction point between three countries. Hence the name “Triple Frontier”.
