The Journey Chef's Table Aruba

Will you have a bad meal? No. But is it fine dining experience? I am not so sure. After dining at other fine dining place the same week, this experience felt more like a chef rush to create 20 plates; instead of making sure every dish come out uniformly and perfectly with the best ingredients possible. Our two asian short ribs, one is thin while another one is thick but fatty. Service was ok, the two waitress were overwhelmed. Beside missed my intermission drink, they failed to ask if we wanna get after dinner drink like an espresso before or during desert. When the check arrives, they finally remembered to ask if we need a taxi which they already asked other tables. For the price point and chef table like experience, I think there are better places.

Amazing dining experience and excellent food! We enjoyed grouper, lobster with herb pasta, tenderloin with mushroom risotto, lamb with ratatouille, and strawberry mouse with tarragon ice cream. Throughout the meal, Chef Patrick invited guests to the counter to watch him plate and chat. I have nothing negative to say about our evening at The Journey. We will 100% be back here next time we visit Aruba.

We ended our trip here. What an incredible ending. To be able to eat Michelin star level food while hanging out with the chef was amazing. Each step of the journey is exquisitely planned to make your palate explore new tastes. The champagne and converstaoin then leads to the first few dishes that can be paired with a wine. During the intermission we are giving a drink to cleanse our palate and we end with the main course and dessert. Having a seat up close and watching the chef work and explain his process was priceless. We are grateful to have ended our trip here and we look forward to returning next time we are on the island. And we can't forget that Jeremy did a great job asisting chef.

Chef Patrick, Jeremy and Ada provided an amazing experience! We were greeted outside with a glass of champagne where we mingled with other guests. Upon entering the restaurant, we had our own table however the atmosphere was intimate and we were able to see the courses being plated. Every course was incredible- the flavours , textures and presentation. We highly recommend this experience. Chef Patrick is incredibly funny, humble and approachable. The entire team was genuine and fun to engage with. Thank you for making our evening special!

I’m speechless over how wonderful our experience was at The Journey Aruba! Having dined at many Michelin awarded restaurants across Europe and the US, The Journey is definitely “worth a special Journey.” A truly customized experience that felt as close to having a private chef while still enjoying the ambience of a space outside of your resort, the meal is absolutely one that hits every sense. Starting with a welcome glass of champagne on the lovely patio before beginning the evening, chef Patrick and his team went out of their way to have a non alcoholic sparkling wine alternative for me to feel included in the toast. Each course inside was visually stunning but most importantly delicious. It’s impossible to choose a favorite course but I left absolutely stuffed and craving the homemade baileys ice cream. Getting to watch each course be plated and hearing the thoughtful explanation behind our dishes was a true pleasure. I couldn’t recommend The Journey more highly and especially recommend for a romantic evening or a special occasion. We can’t wait to return someday.
