We had an amazing dining experience whilst in Cusco. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, guiding us through the menu and teaching us about the history of the building and the food/wine we had. We had a lovely time with very friendly service. The potato bread appetizer, ceviche, and alfajores were really delicious. The lamb unfortunately was dry and over cooked so I would not recommend that. Very beautiful restaurant with history. Wine and beer to drink. Server was excellent. Told us history of the building being a school. Some walls still have original paintings. Started with Octopus skewers. They were dry and overcooked. Shared a mixed meat platter with pork belly ( it’s just a small piece of fat), chicken and lamb were both good along with potatoes and other local vegetables. Potatoes were a little hard and lacked flavor. Received a free desert and tea and coca leaves.

I heard about this restaurant from a friend who visited last year and highly recommended. It’s recently changed its name to Hapya, but Saqra’da is still on the signage. I had the choufa quinoa which was perfect in every way. The coconut dessert and tea brought to me at the end was a delight. Peru has amazing food!

The rich and savory flavors, the deep and complex sauces, the perfectly cooked crisp vegetables, presentation so beautiful I feel guilty eating it, this is clearly fine dining at extremely fair prices. The hapya sour, exotic flavours I can't describe, the perfect lightly fruity-slightly sour cocktail with a gorgeous foam top. It's made with airampo seeds. I want to drink a bucket of this. (Strangely, the premium cocktails here are cheaper than your average tourist restaurant in cusco.) The service was also amazing to say the least. Give this place a try!!!
