The souk was closed for a couple hours in the afternoon. So we dropped in here to get out of the heat and grab a drink. We had the Moroccan tea and a citrus tea. Both were great. With the citrus tea being incredibly refreshing. Also ordered a couple deserts. The kanufa and the chocolate lava cake. Both were great. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. The first time I tried the Desert Rose restaurant, I can say the food was really nice and the staff were amazing. Especially Harnancy’s , who was super helpful. I also loved Margarita’s kind action when she saw I had a plaster on my hand, she came over and asked how she could help me put food on my plate. Her initiative made me feel so happy to see such a thoughtful employee. I really hope the restaurant recognizes her for her kindness. 🥰 Desert Rose is a delightful dinner spot at the edge of Souq Watif. There is indoor seating, but the outdoor patio is perfect after the sun goes down. I had a very flavorful chicken and rice dish served in an upside down pot (chicken majboos, it’s fun, try it). I think they must really take advantage of being so close to the spice market! The om ali for dessert was aromatic and sweet without being too sweet. My server James was very friendly and promptly kept the table cleaned and supplied with the next dish. There were an inordinate number of crying babies all throughout dinner which dings a star from the atmosphere. The decor, menu, etc does not suggest a kids restaurant to me, but I guess everybody is different.

I ordered the Millionaire Burger — it was a slider, but it tasted good. The beef was juicy, and the bun was fresh. I liked the ambience, decorations, and lighting, which gave the place a cozy feel. Service was nice, and the staff were friendly.

Great location next to Souq Waqif and just across from our hotel — super convenient, especially in the summer! No wait to get in, good food, and our server Shanti was really sweet and attentive. Felt very welcome here.
