Explora Watersports offer surf rental from our centre on the beach in Essaouira, if you want to catch the perfect wave and enjoy a moment of peace and tranquillity before you catch the next wave. Surf rental is for available for everyone as long as you can swim and are over 15 years old or are accompanied by an adult, ideally you should have had a lesson before so understand the basics of surfing at a minimum. Surf rental starts from 1/2 a day through to a full week rental. The rental includes your board and wetsuit as well as full use of our facilities (showers / changing room / wifi etc)

This half-day excursion takes us to Sidi Mbark, a small Berber village 35 km south of Essaouira. We walk trough dunes and on a lonesome beautiful beach till we reach a little cascade (which is in summer times dry, due to the drought Morocco is facing) and visit the old Marabout close by (residence for the spirit of a Saint or wise man). Here, the convergence of a large sand dune, a small river, and an imposing rock splendidly frames a lovely bay. We are invited to a local family for a traditional Berber tea ceremony at the end of the walk. There is the option to have a donkey with a guide on the walk (supplement), which is fun for kids to ride.

The hike now takes us southwards on winding paths through rolling hills. Along the way we encounter shepherds with goats and sheep. The trek provides panoramic views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean to the horizon. Walking above the bays we come upon stone houses where fishermen store their gear used to eke out a living from the sea. On the return hike we stop at a bay for a refreshing swim (optional). Then, surrounded by beautiful scenery, we enjoy a vegetarian picnic at the waterfall of Sidi Mbark. The walking time of 3.5 to 4 hours can be adjusted to your needs and desires. As we will be driving through the Argan zone, you have the option to visit an Argan oil cooperative and learn about the production of this beautiful oil - in all the world, a product unique to this area. They will offer us a taste of the lovely things they make with it, too. Very likely you will see the famous goats in the trees on this tour to the south of Essaouira.
