We will set up camp OR drive to several locations depending on the weather, Northern Lights activity and the region we are driving to as well as the parking situation.

Join our small group Northern Lights tour! In a small group with a max of 15 people we’ll take you to the spots with the clearest sky, take professional pictures and offer help on how to set up your own camera. Photos will be shared with you by email. If you need a tripod we also got it for you! To keep you warm during the tour we have thermal suits and warm boots. Later on, we're going to enjoy the cozy atmosphere around a bonfire, have sausages, warm drinks and cookies.

We invite you out to our Aurora camp along with professional guides where we will have a great vantage point of the Aurora Borealis. A visit to the dog yard and the puppies is of course also included.

This is not a fixed-route tour; instead, your expert guides use constantly updated weather and solar activity reports to find the clearest skies and most active lights. Your itinerary is 100% flexible, meaning you'll travel wherever the data leads, whether that's one perfect spot or several locations. You won't just see the lights—you'll learn how to capture them. A professional photographer is on your tour to help you get the most out of your own camera and will also take an optional professional portrait of you with the Aurora. Please be aware that if you are booking between April 15th and 20th, your tour will be affected by increasing daylight hours. Even on clear skies, the Northern Lights may not appear as strong as they do during the deep winter, and your tour duration may be shorter during this specific period.

Join this northern lights chase to maximize your chances of seeing the world’s most spectacular light show. On board the bus there will be one professional driver and one experienced Northern Lights guide. They are passionately committed to choosing the best spot based on the weather forecast, that maximizes the options of seeing the aurora. The guide will provide you with information about camera settings and helpful tips, so when the lights appear you can capture the perfect Northern Lights picture. The guide will also take pictures during the excursion so you can have a souvenir to bring home. It is important to mention that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and it can't be guaranteed that they will be seen. The meeting place for the English, German and Spanish tours is inside the building Prostneset (at the main entrance downstairs and close to the bus terminal).

The experience starts in the dock in the city center in Tromsø, from there you will take on the arctic night on board Sagasund. The boat departs at 20:00 and will set course to the destination where the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are the greatest. On board are a variety of warm and cold drinks for you to enjoy and keep you warm,available for purchase. Photos are not included in this activity, but the crew on board will help you to set up the correct settings on your camera and phone, so you can capture the green lady. The boat will stay with the Northern Light as long as it can take into consideration the duration of the tour. The boat will return at the same dock right next to Scandic Ishavshotel at 23:30.

Set off on an adventure into the total darkness of the Arctic fjords and Polar nights. We depart Tromsø and set sail to the place where the best weather conditions for the night have been predicted. This can be towards the areas of Kvaløyvågen or Ramfjorden or along the southern part of Kvaløya. The crew will work together and keep their eyes out for clear skies or a gap in the clouds. While we wait for the northern lights to appear, you can stay warm and comfortable in our heated lounges. Throughout the evening our guides will share their knowledge and personal stories of the Northern Lights. From mythical stories from around the world to the scientific explanation of the Northern Lights. When we get lucky to spot the Northern Lights, we can put on our warm clothes and go outside to admire lady Aurora in the night sky. Some nights she shines bright in the sky and dances with different colours, while on other nights she's a bit shy and is only faintly visible or not visible at all.

We carefully analyse the weather conditions before each tour to predict the best spots for the Northern Lights show, we provide all the necessary equipment and food. We offer a tour for a small group to enjoy togetherness and excitement while hunting for Northern Lights in the beautiful landscapes of the Altafjord. We arrange organized guided tours since 2007 and have the knowledge about how to find the Northern Lights if the conditions are there. On our tours you normally will have 80-90 % chance of seeing this spectacular view. Each tour is different, as we focus on finding the optimal place with the greatest chance of seeing the lights. We therefore sometimes have to drive quite far to find them, while sometimes we find them in the surrounding area. Necessary driving distance decide whether we establish a camp with a fire, or whether we serve hot chocolate and snacks at one of our short stops. While enjoying the great outdoors, we will share with you local stories about Norwegian way of living, local history from the Stone Age, Sami culture, reindeer-herding, 2nd World War and the modern society in Alta. We are normally back just over midnight.

This is an online activity, access to the online materials will be shared with you after purchase.

Once we find clear skies, we will serve hot drinks along with biscuits as we waited for the Northern Lights to occur.
