The history of Jews in Oslo and Norway is brief and distinctive. This tour is also unusual as it covers most of the history on one street. We will begin in front of the location where the first Jewish family settled in Oslo and continue down the city's main street. The street was always bustling with activity, and it's no surprise that Jewish businessmen also opened stores there. Monuments, the Parliament building, and even the city's main church all have some connection to Jewish history. Imagine that even the Royal family has something in common with a Jewish boy from Tunisia. The tour is accompanied by many visual materials and stories from Oslo's Jewish community. This small group tour lasts for 5-6 hours. During months with evening darkness, we are hunting clear skies within the area around Tromsø. The excursion starts at 7 p.m./19:00 and the drive can take us in all directions when heading out and away from the city lights. On some days we don´t have to go very far and can enjoy more time outdoors, while on other days we have to work a bit more and do a proper "hunt" to get what we are looking for. We do see some light on most days that we are out, but there are of course no guarantees - this is a natural phenomenon. During the evening, we make several stops to look - sometimes the lights are directly over us. Usually, if the weather and lights permit it we do a longer stop with a bonfire, a pre-prepared meal (a portion of soup/stew), and a hot drink. This is a proper small group tour with a maximum of 6 guests pr. tour this season. The night is yours! And if you want an even more intimate tour have a look at the private option.
