After some easy training in a safe area, the trip starts with exciting rapids and waves through the first section of the Valldøla. As the river calms, we take our first break on the riverbanks. All guests get the opportunity to swim a fun river rapid. It is a surprising and rewarding experience to feel the power of the river as you safely float through the waves. Once everyone has cooled off enough swimming in the river we continue downstream through high mountains and endless fields of strawberries. Just over halfway point we pull out and take lunch stop along the river. We light a fire, warm water, and serve a local delicacy, Svele, with local strawberries and cream. A great way to refuel before setting out on the final, and swiftest section of the river. The grade steepens and rapids increase in both number and size.

The trip takes place directly downstream from the renowned Gudbrandsjuvet canyon, approximately 15 kilometers from Valldal, towards Trollstigen. The course is located in an breathtaking canyon, where placid water from Reinheimen National Park runs between vertical granite walls. Within the canyon we have a course of obstacles, travelling down the canyon. The first challenge is a via-ferrata, followed by a rope bridge, stretched across to the other side of the canyon. From there we move further into the canyon with via-ferrata, a new balance bridge, before do our first dive of the day from 3 meters height! After a short swim in the refreshing water, we climb up again, ready for more jumping, swimming, climbing and ziplining. The trip ends with a swim through a white water rapid at the end of the canyon.

Our next stop will be at the delightful fishing village of Bud with a nice view on Bjørnsund Island. The next highlight is the 407m high Varden viewpoint. During the photo stop, a wonderful view of the fjord landscape with its countless small islands, the city and its impressive mountain panorama awaits us. Before we reach the harbor again, there is still time for a short city tour.

On this self-guided walking tour, you’ll hear about Ålesund’s history from the Viking Age, through World War II and modern times, while enjoying several beautiful views. Ålesund is a charming Art Nouveau town on Norway’s west coast. It was almost completely rebuilt after a great fire destroyed the town center in 1904. The tour starts in front of Destinasjon Ålesund & Sunnmøre, the tourist office, and takes you along Kongens Gate Road. You’ll see striking views of the tiny Molja Lighthouse, Mount Aksla, and the Ålesund strait, which prove why the town was voted the most beautiful in Norway. As you stroll, you’ll see that this relatively small town has many surprises, with flower motif ornamentation weaving around the walls, and trolls, dragons, and gremlins popping up in surprising places. You’ll see plenty of stone houses with towers, spires, and peculiar gables. I’ll also show you Ålesund Church and the cruise pier before you reach the end of the tour in Ålesund City Park.

Discover the scenery and history of the ‘Viking saga islands’ of Giske and Godøy. From Ålesund, we’ll travel across the Giske bridge to the saga island of Giske, the birthplace of the Viking chieftain, Rollo. During a photo stop at Giske we will enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Travelling through a tunnel will bring us to the island of Godøy and the picturesque fishing village of Alnes. There will be a stop at Alnes Lighthouse for a visit . We return to Ålesund and ascend the local mountain Aksla. The bus will take us as far as the stadium, where we’ll continue our journey on foot. A scenic 900-meter walk on a gentle path with no gradient will lead us to the viewpoint, offering spectacular panoramic views of Ålesund and its stunning surroundings. From the viewpoint, we will descend 418 steps back to the town, where it's just a short walk to the harbor.‍ Please Note: For those who prefer not to walk to the viewpoint or down the steps, the bus will return directly to the harbor.

On your way to Geiranger, visit the Hornindal Lake, Norway's and Europe's deepest lake, officially measured to a depth of 514 m (1686 ft). You will pass the beautiful lake of Oppstryn and take a photostop at Jostedalsbreen Nasjonalparksenter. You will also make a short photo stop at the Øvstefossen Waterfall. After a ride over mountain roads, you’ll reach two of the most impressive highlights in Geiranger: the spectacular Djupvatn lake and the top of the famous mountain Dalsnibba at the altitude of 1500 m (4920 ft) above sea level. From Dalsnibba mountain top you will be able to see the village of Geiranger, the Eagle Bend and surrounding waterfalls. Finally, return to Hellesylt in time for your cruise ship departure.
