First of all, there's mandhi in the menu which they do not offer. The first waitress brought us the menu then pretended she did not see us when we signalled we were ready to order. The fish fingers did not taste like fish at all. It was moist on the inside and tasted only of spices. The fries were pretty bland. The mutton curry also had lots of spices that did not mix very well. Tasted like uncooked spice. The straws that came with the drinks were a bit too big. The weather was chilly so if you're going in the evening carry a light sweater. The milkshake and buttered naan were good. Pina colada is also good. Pretty place but overall bad service and poor food. The scenery is beautiful, breeze is heavenly in a hot day and the servers are very nice. Unfortunately though, I did not get to try the food as they only start to cook around 1:30 to 1:45 on Fridays due to some Muslim prayers and I need to leave at 2pm for my old town tour. Would love to try if I can come back tho Great ambience, views and food. The cool breeze makes it a wonderful place to enjoy a sumptuous meal. Install handwash basin/sink in the restaurant instead of guests having to go to wash hands in the toilets.

The scenery is beautiful, breeze is heavenly in a hot day and the servers are very nice. Unfortunately though, I did not get to try the food as they only start to cook around 1:30 to 1:45 on Fridays due to some Muslim prayers and I need to leave at 2pm for my old town tour. Food, Food was very very very nice. Service was poor but they we’re respectful. Restaurant feels really nice, looking at the ocean while eating sea food is a very unique experience!!!

Forodhani Restaurant was such a wonderful stop during my time in Mombasa. The location by the ocean makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the breeze while watching the city’s vibrant life go by. What really stood out for me was their hot Dawa drink. I wasn’t feeling my best that day, and the warmth of the drink—infused with honey, lemon, and ginger—instantly soothed me. It felt like a hug in a cup and gave me just the boost I needed to continue exploring. The staff were attentive and kind, and the atmosphere felt welcoming even for a solo traveler.
