Very good food and service. Starting with the good the lobster bisque and calamari was really good. I have definitely never had calamari like I've had here. The star of the show was the desserts. The creme brulee was kind of basic creme brulee there wasn't much special with it but the coconut thing was really good and I've never had that anywhere. The biscuits they serve were hard as rocks and we're just not good at all. The main thing I didn't like is I got a reservation and didn't realize there was a dress code for this place so when we got there they kind of said that I was looking bad even though I was just wearing a T-shirt and pants. But you have to have I guess some kind of button up top with a collar or something to be able to sit in the restaurant. But she did let us sit in the bar area. And we did only come here to get dessert but there's another rule that they don't tell you about is that you have to order more than just dessert. Which I think is a weird rule but whatever. It just made us feel extremely uncomfortable and I definitely did not like that. but the food that we got made up for the fact and we actually would like to come back again because there's other stuff on their menu that look very good I came in on June 2nd for a solo Birthday dinner and left feeling like I was at dinner with family. This dining experience is the best I've ever had! June and Patty have such welcoming spirits, it really set the tone for the rest of the night. The restaurant is beautiful. Very elegant and unique. My server Marco, really knows the menu. He was attentive and present and gave me great suggestions throughout my dining experience. Every staff member on the floor was attentive. Staff members from other sections would pass and wish me a happy birthday or just stop to check in with me and chat for a moment. The 2 who stuck out to me were Greg and Shawn. Thank you for your kindness and Birthday wishes. Kenneth your rendition of "Happy Birthday" is something ill remember for years to come. It was beautiful and personal. Great service from the host stand, food runners, and our server. We started with the creole tomato salad & lobster dumplings. Both were excellent. The sauce with the dumplings was special. Entrees we had the tuna and filet. The tuna 10/10 awesome. Perfect execution & absolutely delicious. I tasted my wife’s filet and it was very good. The Worcester veal jus was really nice. Will definitely make a point to get reservations when we’re in town.

GW Fins in New Orleans serves very good food, but I have to say it didn’t quite live up to the level of hype I had read about. While the meal was enjoyable, I wouldn’t call it a dining experience I’ll remember forever. The highlights for me were the dessert — an ice cream pie — and the complimentary biscuits with whipped butter. Both were absolutely delicious, and the staff happily brought more upon request, which I really appreciated. Those were the two things I’ll most remember from the meal. The other dishes, including the ceviche and the fish they’re known for, were fresh and well-prepared but didn’t stand out in flavor. Everything was good, just not mind-blowing or unforgettable. On the other hand, the atmosphere is beautiful, spacious, and romantic, and the service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and very kind. Overall, GW Fins is a solid choice for fresh seafood in New Orleans, with standout desserts and excellent service, but I didn’t find the main dishes as memorable as I expected given the restaurant’s reputation.

We went here for our anniversary and we were treated so well, it really did help make our day special. Multiple staff members wished us a happy anniversary. When we arrived at our table, there was a personalized souvenir menu and confetti on our table. We ordered dessert after our meal, but they also brought out two chocolates on a plate with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate and a candle. The menu had so many great sounding items on it, it was hard to choose. We shared the panko breaded calamari appetizer, which was tender inside and crispy on the outside. Wonderful sauce. I ordered the Scalibut, a creation of scallops seared onto a halibut filet, served with orzo and snow peas. It was light tasting and fresh. My husband had the yellowfin tuna. I didn't taste it but he really enjoyed it. I had the creme brulee for dessert which was bigger than I expected, and my husband had a coconut on the half shell homemade sorbet dessert in a chocolate shell. Yum! The restaurant has a contemporary decor. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. I would highly recommend them.
