Two events shaped modern Korea more than anything else: the arrival of Christian missionaries in the late 19th century and the Korean War. When Korea was extremely poor and had almost no concept of modern medicine, blue-eyed missionaries built hospitals and schools for the poor and offered free care and education. Many of the institutions they founded later became today’s top universities and major hospitals, such as Yonsei University and Catholic University hospitals. By covering these two pivotal events, this tour will help you understand and give you a meaningful and close look at Korea’s modern history.

Through this tour, you can enjoy the nature, culture, and food of the beautiful east coast in one day, away from the complicated Seoul. To provide customers with more wonderful memories, we have shooting props for the situation and the season. Korean sunsticks will be provided to all participants to prevent skin damage caused by outdoor activities. The East Coast area is the most preferred tourist destination for Koreans with UNESCO's natural heritage such as Seoraksan Mountain, wonderful sea, and delicious food, but it is not easy to access due to the distance from Seoul and inconvenient transportation. A friendly guide and air-conditioned transportation allow you to comfortably tour the core areas of the East Coast and return to Seoul. * This tour requires a reservation of at least 5 people per date to depart. Most of the visitors to South Korea consider exploring the DMZ and tend to choose Gyeonggi-do routes that are mostly commercial, but this tour would likely be much more private and less crowded. Furthermore, this is an hour's drive away from the MT Seoraksan, so if you plan to visit the Seoraksan, you would be able to enjoy two attractions on one itinerary. Additionally, on the way back, you can enjoy North Korean cuisine for lunch and grab a chance to observe traditional Korean architecture. This area was formerly part of North Korean territory before the Korean War. * The team could be fewer than 4~5.

The east coast of Korea is best known for Sokcho and Gangneung. We know many international travelers have a hard time choosing between the two. With this tour, you can stay in Sokcho and still enjoy a comfortable day trip to Gangneung. If you’re not interested in K-culture spots like the BTS Bus Stop or the Goblin filming location, you can visit Naksansa Temple instead. Also, if you’ve already been to another Arte Museum, you may choose Haslla Art World as an alternative. Please note that substitutions may not be possible when touring with other groups. We appreciate your understanding.
