Judy’s Café is a longtime south Anchorage institution, best known for breakfast, though the full menu is available all day. It’s cash only (there’s an ATM inside), and the service is genuinely friendly and welcoming. The café is small but usually efficient. On this visit, however, my breakfast took longer than expected, and a table seated after me that ordered lunch received their food first. Not a major issue, but noticeable. The menu is classic American comfort food. Breakfast comes with a choice of hash browns or grits plus toast—simple and filling. The cooking is honest but far from adventurous, with very mild seasoning overall. The sausage links were clearly reheated in the fryer and left there too long, coming out burnt and dry. Bottom line: Judy’s remains a solid neighborhood spot for traditional breakfast and lunch, just don’t expect anything groundbreaking—this is straightforward comfort food with the occasional rough edge.

Amazing food and very friendly staff. Usually do breakfast but decided to try lunch today. I got the chicken bacon Swiss sandwich (special for the day) chicken was hot and fries were so unique! My friend got an of the menu item (it was slow enough the kitchen didn’t mind) and homemade beef and barley soup too! Everything was absolutely amazing! Will be returning again soon!

Judy's Cafe delivers on that diner Cafe experience on everything except food and value. I got the bacon, and eggs with hash browns and toast. I added a side of corned beef hash. Bacon was burnt, hash browns were dry. Eggs were fine but the Corned beef hash seemed like it was a leftover potatoes meal with some corned beef. Overall I was disapointed. It was 14$ plus another 7$ for the side. Much better places for food. To top it of there was hair on the bacon😱🤮. Staff was great, kept the coffee refilled. Place was busy. But the love and care for the food with the pricing was non existent. Most likely will avoid this place in future. Maybe a bad day for the cook? Dont know. I did have a taste of the gravy and biscuits as I was told these were the best? Mediocre at best. Gravy had no flavor. If I did not know any better it was canned gravy. Staff was great. They took off the bill what I ordered. I didn't finish it. Keeping it real for you so you don't have to waste your money on sub par food and experiences. Total bill before credit $55 for two before tip and credit. Nope crazy.

This place fills up fast. A no frills breakfast experience. Reindeer sausage is an option. The cinnamon rolls are as big as your face and so delicious. They aren't made on site but from a local bakery. We came here three times during our Alaska trip, and I know we will wake up when we get home and wish we could go to Judy's for breakfast. Also cash only. There is an ATM inside to allow you to pull out cash.

Look peeps, you get exactly as advertised. It is cash only no frills diner. Straight Americana grub at a decent price for Anchorage, Alaska. Had the biscuits and gravy and two perfectly cooked over medium eggs and two slices of thick cut bacon. Was it the most "amazing" good I've ever had. Heck no. It was exactly what I wanted, an old school diner experience that is hard to come by these days.
