Absolutely fantastic. We went twice. I had Reindeer the first time and Halibut the second time. My wife had Reindeer the second time and said it was the best meal she’d ever had. Brilliant knowledgeable staff recommended excellent wine to accompany the food. Our kids (13/19/27) enjoyed it too.

I went with my wife to try some traditional food and was worth a visit. Not the cheapest but very nice. The waitress ask if we want some coffee but never arrived. A part from these was amazing experience. Reindeer meat was very soft and tested.

Ambience: Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Bergen facing the water. The design is extremely special and unique. It is so authentic and beautiful that you can feel the history of the place and the people who have dined there. It has a very peaceful and positive vibe and is really beautiful. ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Food: By far one of the best foods I have had in my life. I have tried many restaurants around the world, some of the most luxurious and Michelin star restaurants in Dubai and Europe but they come nowhere close to the food we had here. I’m not very experimental with food but decided to be adventurous and for the first time try Reindeer meat and whale steak and it was just a wonderful experience. We ordered one beef steak, one burger, one reindeer and one whale and every single dish was a masterpiece . I think authentic restaurants like this one truly deserve some International recognition and awards. The portions were also very generous and well presented. It was just super delicious . ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Service: Service was extraordinary. The lady who was in charge of our table was extremely kind and warm. There was so much love and care in her eyes that we felt us having a great experience is her ultimate goal. She was helpful with the menu and gave us great recommendations. She made us feel like eating at home . ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Overall: I would travel to Bergen just to eat at this restaurant. The hospitality is another level and the food is excellent. This place is truly a gem hidden in Europe.

Simply fantastic, authentic Norwegian food! Do not miss this place on your stop in Bergen. The reindeer steak was fabulous, had wolf fish for the first time and it was incredible white fish, full of buttery flavor and flaky texture cooked to perfection. And their fish soup is the top three, if not best, I’ve ever had! We sat outside on the patio with our small dog and had a wonderful lunch. Recommend getting there early when they open at noon as it did fill up quick!

Dining at Bryggeloftet & Stuene felt like stepping into a cozy, wood-paneled piece of Bergen’s history. The restaurant sits right along the iconic Bryggen wharf, so the setting alone adds to the charm. We came in for dinner after a day of exploring, and the warm, bustling atmosphere was exactly what we needed. The menu leans classic and hearty, and we ended up ordering a nice variety to share across the table: the filet, the burger, and the coq au vin — each one well-prepared and satisfying in its own way. The filet was tender and flavorful, the burger had that perfect balance of juicy and rich, and the coq au vin was deeply savory with a great sauce. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the chocolate cake, which came paired with a bright raspberry sorbet that balanced everything beautifully. It was a clean, elegant finish to the meal. We also had several bottles of wine over the course of the evening. Interestingly, when we asked for recommendations, our server mentioned she couldn’t offer much guidance because she was vegan — something we hadn’t encountered before. While that limited the wine conversation a bit, the overall service was friendly and attentive, and everything flowed smoothly. All in all, it’s a great choice for a classic Bergen dinner with a view and a sense of place.
