One of the 3 top culinary experiences of 2025. It was my father birthday, and he wanted to eat a pork knuckle. 🤷♀️ The only place in Chicago that was serving it and was open on Tuesday was Girl and the Goat. Making reservation on the same day we only were able to get an outdoor seating, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant runs " family style" ordering system, when small dishes are ordered and shared between customers. We ordered tomato salad, goat confirmed, pork shank. The garbanzo and goat cheese appetizer was a compliment from a chef to my father. Every dish was a masterpiece, with flavors adding to each other to male each dish unique. The tomato salad dressing is very original and complimenting heirloom tomatoes perfectly. The garbanzo and goat cheese was very unexpectedly good. The goat confiit was mind blowing. Even my father, who doesn't eat goat at all, devoured half of it . The pork knuckle was crispy outside and melting in the mouth on the inside. I honestly think this place deserves at least one Michelin star. If ever again in Chicago, we will dine here again. Everything was amazing. The food was INCREDIBLE. The atmosphere was cozy but the service was warm and friendly. My only regret is not going with more people so I could order or try more things. I definitely recommend a reservation. Even if you have to eat at an off time, it's worth it! What an amazing meal! Girl & the Goat absolutely delivered on flavor, creativity, and ambiance. Every dish was a masterclass in balance. Spices were dialed in just right, and the flavors danced between sweet, spicy, savory, and earthy in a way that kept us reaching for more. From the first bite to the last, it was clear that the kitchen knows how to layer complexity without overwhelming the palate. The ingredients felt fresh, the presentation was thoughtful, and the vibe of the place added to the whole experience. It’s the kind of spot where you can taste the passion in every plate.

Just finished dinner here and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the food was outstanding. The roasted pig face in particular was a standout dish—rich in flavor and cooked perfectly. On top of that, the staff went the extra mile and even brought us an additional small dish, which was such a thoughtful touch. Service throughout the night was excellent and made us feel very well taken care of. For everything we ordered, plus drinks, the total with tip came out to just around $100, which felt like a fantastic deal given the quality and experience. If you’re visiting Chicago, this restaurant should be at the very top of your list. Highly recommended!

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Girl and the GOAT. I included that it was our anniversary on the reservation, and they made our night truly special! Our menu was printed with “Happy Anniversary” at the top, and they brought us a little dessert with candles in it at the end. Every dish we ordered was sublime. We had the grilled oysters, chickpea fritters, green beans (truly the best green beans I’ve ever eaten!), and the goat empanadas. Our server was perfectly attentive and the courses were paced just right. Would definitely return here next time we are in Chicago!
