Our first meal in Peru. Pollo A La Plancha for mi esposa y Lomo Saltado para mi. My beef was a little tough. Keep in mind that it is the rump roast of the cow and a cheaper piece of meat, but It could have been better. She thought her meal was just okay too. Hopefully our expectations will be meet next time. Also Pisco Sour and local Cusqueña cerveza para me was very good. Great slightly upscale place for a cheap traveler! I liked that they had multiple cuy options so I did not have to order a full cuy on a plate. Great service! Nicely located on the main square. This was an upscale restaurant with windows that overlook the square. The staff and atmosphere were very nice. The prices are the food were higher than expected and I feel you could find better food for half the price elsewhere. I did have the Cuy and many have asked what did it taste like. The best way I can describe it is that is tasted like greasy rabbit meat. Very little meat and chewy skin. Perhaps had I eaten one on the streets at the markets it might have been more dry. But to each their own. When we return I will most likely eat somewhere else.

The place is small, but very good, they have local wine to pair your food and the service is very good, they do their best to make you happy, and recommend exactly what you need and you are looking for... Food was very good, they give you a welcome small Pisco and some choclo.... It was a very good service. They really make a difference in a city with more that 500+ restaurants.

I had a great time at Mr. Cuy! The guinea pig was perfectly prepared – crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside. A true local delicacy, and they absolutely nailed it. Special thanks to Carlos, our waiter – he was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended if you want to try authentic Peruvian cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere!
