This is an interactive activity, but is your family friendly, slower, shorter version of your dog sledding adventure. We prefer to have people stand on the runners and drive the dogs, with us on a tag sled as guide throughout the experience. Kids 6 years and up may be able to drive the dog team. Children under 6 years will ride in the sled with an adult. Sitting in the Sled will be accommodated as needed, especially for children and seniors, or anyone nervous about the process. This is also a great option if you've never been around dogs and are keen to learn and say hello to your very friendly working sled dogs.

Capture Wild Alaska does not do big groups! We do private tours only! (one to six people max). We try to keep you away from the crowds as headlights from vehicles ruin the light show. We have secret and private locations to share with you. Our private tours also reduce exposure to other travelers. We know this is important for our elderly guests and immune compromised. We also offer a very cozy Grand Wagoneer with heated seats and triple sunroof. We also offer photography instruction to shoot the Auroras and include a high resolution file of our light show with additional prints to purchase as an option.

This activity takes place at a working sled dog kennel. The dogs are friendly, though boisterous and clumsy sometimes. This facility cannot accommodate wheelchairs. Getting to the Springs Resort and the aurora chase is via a Vehicle that holds up to 6 people, is low to the ground, and is easy to enter and exit. This tour can NOT accommodate wheelchairs unless special arrangements are made. Please advise us with any mobility issues, the ground can be icy. Please note that there is no guarantee of indoor plumbing for bathroom breaks being available during the aurora chase portion. This tour operates regardless of temperature, please dress accordingly.

Income from tours allows Leslie to continue the grand tradition of dog sledding by training young mushers and helping them raise funds to compete in the annual Alaskan dog sled races that have become so popular all over the world. Our tour begins with pickup from major hotels in downtown Fairbanks. After about a 30-minute drive, we arrive at our office, Aurora Sphere. There, you’ll gear up with helmets and other equipment before setting off on brand-new Yamaha snowmobiles, led by a professional guide. You’ll ride through snow-covered birch and Christmas tree forests, along a section of the Alaska oil pipeline, and by the Chena River.
