The Vietnamese food served was good. The steaks were not great, they were not cooked to specification and had zero sear on them. The mushroom sauce was quite flavorless and disappointing. The side of mashed potatoes was only a spoonful, the veg was simply steamed without any seasoning and it all came out only slightly warm. Do not bother with alcoholic drinks here as they have very little alcohol in them at all, after 2 drinks a bit of a buzz is expected but not at all in this case. The outdoor dining is lovely and the restaurant looks the part however overall not great. The staff are friendly. I would give it 3.5 based on the drinks and not great food...specifically not good steaks when it says its a steakhouse.

Food ok, just ok. Portions tiny, think super small. Mashed potato serving size is an absolute joke. Waitresses got all orders mixed up and handed to the wrong person with wrong sauces. Cocktails weak as water. Sinew not removed from filet steak, no char or sear at all, almost like they had boiled the meat. Food cold on serving. Very disappointing. Reply: The below reply is ridiculous. Filet mignon (Tenderloin) steak does not have sinew in the center of it, nor is it cut from the blade, it was on the side and was not removed, thats sloppy and lazy by the chef. I'm 100% positive that it was your restaurant. Staff with green traditional dress on, to try to implicate the restaurant next door is disgraceful and shameful behavior. I have attached a picture of the burnt and greasy spring rolls that I had for a starter and several pictures of your menu taken whilst I was there. You should accept critical reviews and use them as constructive criticism to improve your service. I've removed a star from the rating because of your childish response.

The food here truly deserves a perfect 10 for both flavor and presentation. The vegetables are fresh and crisp, the bacon is wonderfully aromatic, the chicken is tender, the quail eggs are rich, and the crunchy croutons tie everything together with a flavorful, well-balanced dressing — creating a harmonious and satisfying dish. Every bite feels fresh and full of taste. The staff are attentive, friendly, and always smiling, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. A Dong Restaurant is definitely a place worth coming back to many times.

My family and I went here for dinner. I wanted to order a 500g T-bone steak for 580k VND, but the waiter said they didn't have it. So I ordered a lamb chop for the main course, which cost around 560k VND. Ten minutes later, they brought me two very small lamb chops. I double-checked to see if they were the wrong order, as they weren't enough for an adult. They said the lamb, including the bones, was only 200g, but the weight wasn't stated on the menu. I've had steak and lamb chops in many countries and cities, but I imagine this is even more expensive than in Switzerland. We also ordered pork chops, burgers, and beer, but we were already feeling quite unhappy. This is a complete scam.

I had a great time at A Dong restaurant. The food was delicious and to my taste. The staff were very friendly, especially Tu and the receptionist Anh. She helped me a lot. You can't miss this place if you come to Ha Long.
