Avoid at all costs. Hands down our worst dining experience in Marrakech. Looking for a late lunch after a long bike ride around Medina, we were lured into this restaurant by a ground-floor hawker. From the time we were seated, we struggled to get the attention of our waiter, Khalil, who was rude and dismissive from the beginning. It took about 15 minutes for us to get drinks, another 15 minutes for him to take our order. After half an hour more, when we asked him over to request a wifi code, he snapped at us "It's coming!", assuming we were expressing impatience at the slow service. This should have been a hint at what was to come. We waited probably another 45 minutes before expressing our concern that our order had been forgotten; by that time a large party had come in, about 12 who were clearly a part of a group tour, and were served immediately with several courses. It was clear this restaurant has a deal with tour operators, so they are prioritized above other customers. We asked several times the whereabouts of our meal. About 2 hours after arriving, Khalil slung an overcooked chicken breast at me, lukewarm soup at my son, and a mediocre pile of couscous to my husband, with no apologies or excuses for the lateness. I see this restaurant has other positive reviews, and it's possible they are capable of serving people decently when they care. But the sad truth is they only care about certain customers, and their rudeness towards others is inexcusable-- especially in a neighbourhood with ample great restaurants around. I’m usually a bit introverted, but the vibe here made it easy to relax and just enjoy. Great food, amazing atmosphere: definitely not quiet at all, lively, and full of good energy. Even if you don’t feel like dancing, just do it. You'll end up having a blast with everyone! This is truly one of the best restaurants in Marrakech — the friendly staff, the wonderful atmosphere, the entertaining dances and music, and of course, the delicious food. We especially fell in love with the Sweet Tanjia, it was absolutely outstanding. A special thank you to Mohammed, Said, and to all the other staff members whose names I unfortunately don’t know or have forgotten. Your kindness and hospitality made our experience exceptional. This is our first time in Morocco and it’s impossible not to admire the warmth, sincerity and friendliness of the people here. Their helpful and welcoming attitude touched us deeply. Leaving all this behind and returning to cold (in every sense 😶) Germany makes us truly sad.

Amazing place in the middle of Medina area of Marrakesh. The food was expensive but the quality and service were exceptional. The live performances by artists were fantastic. We witnessed shows of Dancers with candles, fairy lights & Belly dancing. In addition, there were traditional music performances by artists. Please make sure that you make reservations 1-2 days in advance (ands much earlier for weekend) and try to select time slot of 19:30-20:00 to experience most of the shows.

Myself and my husband really enjoyed our visit to Dar Essalam. My husband has coeliac disease and must stick to a strict gluten free diet, they were more than helpful when catering to his food allergies. The staff are amazing. The music and dancers are absolutely amazing, great fun and lots of interaction with guests. Very reasonable price. Well worth a visit.
