Why Travelers Love Orgueil

4.7 / 5.0(5,249 reviews)

We had an excellent experience! Each dish was beautifully prepared. The creamy gnocchi is a must-try. The only slight drawback was the confit lamb, which was a bit too oily and could benefit from more balance, perhaps with added herbs or spices. Overall, the price-to-quality ratio is outstanding. We shared 5 courses for under 40€ per person and left both full and completely satisfied. We don’t drink, so we didn’t try the wine, but it seems this place is also well-known for its wine selection. Excellent restaurant with a very nice concept. You can order à la carte or let yourself be guided by the chef's choices in a mystery menu. All dishes are served in portions to share. And everything was really excellent! The mystery menu is quite generous, even for big eaters. The dining room is very pretty and tastefully decorated. The service is top notch. You have about two hours to eat before the next service. We were in the bistro section, but the restaurant also has a room at the back with other options. I recommend it 100%. Speakeasy tasting menu was awesome, you get to talk with the chefs and cooks and ask them questions. Service is amazing and the wine pairing, despite being affordable, was stellar! Would go again!

Overhyped. Went for the speakeasy experience which is really underwhelming and expensive (for the same price you should go to a Michelin starred restaurant). The chef took time to explain the dishes and the restaurant manager is a real wine passionate. Wine pairing is the only highlight, and the smoked butter potatoes mash.

I had the tasting menu. Honestly out of all the dishes only one stood out and two were well executed. Tuna ceviche with beets - best dish overall. As for the rest , if you are planning to make gnocchi which is a heavy carb ,you should lighten it up - instead you get a cheese sauce. For the lamb , also a fatty dish ,you should have a contrast in the form of fragrant herb. These are basic things. Over all most of the dishes were 75/100. Expected way more based on the reviews and price, but it is not a bad restaurant ,food was good and service was excellent. 3.5 out of five on my scale considering the errors price and qualitym
