From the moment you enter Tapabento you feel at home! The staff is so welcoming, taking time to really know their guests which makes the entire experience unforgettable. Hidden inside the train station, the restaurant’s design is quirky and full of personality. The food is DELICIOUS! The flavours lingered long after I had finished, and I cannot recommend the fish soup highly enough. If could literally eat at Tapabento every day the food is that good! Thank you Isabelle and team for making my last day in Porto such a great one, I will definitely be back! ❤️

The food and ambiance was fantastic. Excellent and sincere service, with the owner welcoming you and working the tables, friendly team. Engaged and helpful, and as they say in their welcoming text, make you feel like at their table. We had the fish soup and thai mussels and both were very good, fresh, tasty. Other dishes on tables also looked very good. Would come back either way no hesitation. The location is gorgeous entering by the main lobby of the historic train station. The space is tall and tables well set apart.

A sole traveller, only had half of a day left in porto before leaving at 3pm. I was looking for a good reasonably priced tapas place for lunch before flying off , chanced on Taoabento. Knowing how popular the place is and it was already 11pm I dropped a letter thinking no luck ..But no, Isabel replied to say no problem reserved a spot next morning..So surprised, got there on time was slightly hard to find, hidden within the train station/beside the platform ! Food was fabulous, Isabel came to recommend her own preference...I was a fan of mussle she was willing to change it with clams. I overheard the waitor's recommendation on ox tail "dim sum". Tempted added to order, and I did not regret of making that choice ! Was not the cheapest, but for the quality , freshness and creativity , taste of food was worth every single cent. Thanks for your hospitality. Hope to come back soon again to try the other dishes, not alone!

We arrived right when the restaurant opened, and it was clear that this place is extremely popular—getting a table without a reservation seemed quite difficult. Luckily, thanks to the kind host, we were able to get a seat even without a booking. As the host was showing us to our table, he asked where we were from, and it turned out he wanted to give us a menu in our own language. I was pleasantly surprised by this thoughtful gesture—usually, even when visiting non-English-speaking countries, you have to ask for an English menu, but this place had menus available in so many different languages. That alone made me feel warmly welcomed. The napkins and tablecloths were beautiful, and the interior decor was unique and charming. Our server, Alberto, was incredibly friendly. We’re from Spain and Korea, and he even used a mix of Spanish and Korean while speaking with us, which made the whole experience feel even more special. His kind and attentive service truly elevated the meal. The wonderful lady owner, Isabel seemed to be walking around the restaurant making sure everyone was having a good time. She personally served the dishes we ordered onto our individual plates and explained how to enjoy them—it felt like being a guest at someone’s home, with a loving mother serving the food she made herself. She speaks Spanish, French, English, Italian, and German fluently! And of course, the food was absolutely delicious. We were so full we thought we might burst, but still didn’t leave a single bite behind. It was a truly perfect meal—from the delicious dishes to the positive energy of the staff. If any of my friends visit Porto, I will definitely recommend this restaurant to them.

Literally one of our favorite meals in Portugal! Was recommended this place by my friend back at home! What you find here is delicious asian fusion with a Portuguese flare and beautiful flavors! We approve (and we are from California with a lot of great Asian restaurants)! We wish we had this restaurant back at home! We were greeted by the sweetest owner who treated us like old friends! We loved the following: 1. Chicken noodles 2. Nasi goreng 3. The duck medium rare (beautifully cooked, with crispy skin) 4. Peanut dessert (just do it, so good!) We recommend making a reservation ahead of time! But if you have to wait, it’s still worth the wait! Obrigada, until next time!
