Beautiful dining room, wonderful service. The beef cheek dinner was very hearty, tender and rich. It was very highly seasoned, and full of flavour. I kind of wish mine had more than a small piece of potato to offset the rich sauce and artichoke purée, but the bread helped! The chicken/poultry dinner was herbaceous and satisfying. The onion soup: rich, hearty and very beefy/flavourful. It’s pretty heavy! Glad we shared one. The smoked whitefish: unusual, fun play on textures. We had brunch at Chez Boulay, another Michelin level restaurant in Quebec City that showcased the very best of Nordic-inspired Quebecois cuisine. The meal began with delicately smoked salmon paired with tart lingonberries and buttery potatoes sautéed in brown butter. Each element felt purposeful, from the velvety texture of the salmon to the nutty undertone of the butter, creating a dish that was both comforting and refined. The seared trout that followed was equally memorable, perfectly crisped skin giving way to tender, flaky flesh, complemented by a vibrant arugula and sunflower pesto that added a peppery freshness and subtle earthiness. To finish, a warm, gourmet pancake topped with stewed rhubarb and fresh strawberries provided a beautiful, tangy-sweet finale. The experience at Chez Boulay demonstrating culinary precision and outstanding service. I absolutely loved my dinner here. All the dishes we had from the onion soup to the mains and dessert were fantastic. Honestly more impressive and delicious than I expected. This was my favourite meal in Quebec City. Waiters were also friendly. I highly recommend this resto to anyone visiting the town!

What a wonderful evening. From door greeting to leaving we were treated with respect and the wait staff were extremely knowledgeable and upbeat. This restaurant had been recommended by Canadian friends and did not disappoint. Our starters of seal pate and trout were outstanding followed by bison short ribs and duck breast. It was difficult to choose from a wonderful menu. The wine was also excellent and overall prices were not over the top. Only small criticism was the one dessert was brought out so quickly after ordering that we suspect it had been pre plated. It was nicely flavoured but the biscuit/meringue surround was a bit tough( a hint of staleness ) Overall however the experience was an excellent one with the wait staff even accompanying us through the adjoining Hotel to show us where to order a taxi( great service!) It finished off our Canadian holiday with lovely memories.

We had such a wonderful dining experience here. From the moment we walked in, everything felt warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor truly a treat from start to finish. What made the evening even more special was our server, George. He was attentive without being overbearing, incredibly friendly, and made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. George’s genuine care and professionalism really elevated the experience, and we felt so well taken care of throughout the night. Highly recommend this restaurant for both the amazing food and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be coming back!
