I had such high expectations especially after reading all the amazing reviews and was quite disappointed. The meal was underwhelming and more expensive than a traditional one. We had deep fried artichoke which was literally soaked in oil. Polpette was nothing special (14€) The 3D salmon was good but honestly at 18€ it could have been a little bit more generous. The purple gnocchi were dense and again, nothing special. At least my daughter ate most of it. Maybe we should have gone for the carbonara but unfortunately we left hungry and unsatisfied and won’t be coming back. Tiramisu was ok but the texture lacked air. Felt more like un-whipped cream cheese I have good pictures though. Enjoyed the gnocchi and 3D printed steak. The starter (moscardini, fried mushrooms) and tiramisu were a bit disappointing though. It was also expensive compared to other restaurants in Rome. So would recommend it, but there are hits and misses on the menu. What an amazing experience! I had ordered from Rifugio Romano a few times in previous trips to Rome via Deliveroo and I knew the quality of the food. This time I decided to go with my parents to the restaurant and although it was for a Sunday lunch time I didn’t think about doing a reservation (highly recommended!!) When we arrived there the restaurant was full and the stuff was extremely friendly and nice in their communication, alignment of expectations in terms of timing, the kitchen (that would close for lunch in one hour) and providing some options. We lucky got a table after only 15 minutes of wait and again the service was outstanding. The 3 staff we interacted were friendly, agile and welcoming. I knew the food would be outstanding but the service was a lovely surprise. I can definitely say Rifugio Romano is by far one of the best vegan places I have ever been!

The one thing I truly craved visiting Italy in general for the first time was some good pizza. Being vegan makes that very difficult in countries where its not the norm. However, I was referred to this restaurant by another local all vegan restaurant in Rome to try and I am so glad I did. The menu here has sooo many good options I'm just sad I wasn't able to try them all out. The pizza was made fresh and delicious! I ended up coming back the next day to try out their pasta and I think that was even better. It just felt good to experience some good Italian cuisine for the first time while in Itlay. My only negative is that there restaurant is a bit cramped so depending on the time of day you go, there may be a wait. Also the Bruschetta was not pleasant and was served on some very hard bread. I highly recommend this place not only to vegans but non vegans as well. You won't be disappointed.

Was honestly expecting the food to be better based off other reviews. The food honestly tasted a little too vegan, where the taste was a little off putting. Have definitely had way better vegan pasta dishes before. The tiramisu, however, was amazing. They also kind of begged for a tip since they knew we were Americans, which was a little annoying.
