If you’re looking for the best Nepali food in NZ, Momo Bird is the place! I tried the Thakali Khana Set and it was absolutely amazing… authentic flavors, and perfectly cooked. The dal, curry, pickles, and rice all tasted just like a proper Nepali home meal. The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere is very cozy. I’ve tried Nepali food at other places in NZ, but nothing comes close to the taste and quality here. Highly recommend this restaurant !!!!! Had the most amazing food today! Came across this shop on a rainy day in Rotorua. My partner and I shared the vegetarian momos, chicken lollipops and pani puri. The food came out steaming hot and fresh, and was absolutely delicious. The staff were also so lovely especially the staff member at the front who served us our meal today (apologies as I didn’t get his name). Would highly recommend to everyone! This was my second visit to Momo Bird, and I’m just as impressed as the first time! The vibes, the food, and the customer service were all absolutely amazing. I especially loved the Momo platter so much that I had to pack another one to take with me! Can’t wait to visit New Zealand again, just for another bite of that delicious food. Sending love from Australia! 💛

If you’re looking for the best Nepali food in NZ, Momo Bird is the place! I tried the Thakali Khana Set and it was absolutely amazing… authentic flavors, and perfectly cooked. Had the most amazing food today! Came across this shop on a rainy day in Rotorua. My partner and I shared the vegetarian momos, chicken lollipops and pani puri. There I was at the feet of Mt. Everest, soaking in the glory of the world’s highest peak. Suddenly my wife said “can you pass me a lamb momo” and I was brought back to reality from the fantasy this food had sent me into. I’d tell you to skip the steamed and go straight to the pan fried, except both were delicious. Seriously, this place is good.

First time here for my wife and I. The service was warm and welcoming and very polite. The food was really delicious and the spice level was right on the mark for us. So much depth of flavour. Atmosphere wasn't visually stunning but I liked the little touches like the relaxing Nepalese music. It's a very small, humble place, but the food is tops. The dumplings are some of the best we've had anywhere, with beautiful filings and cooked perfectly. Very happy with our first dining experience here, and we will be back to try more of what's on offer.
