The service is quick and the food is great. Vegetarian options are available, but try the fried shrimp or fish if you can. They're great, especially for the price on this popular road!

Food was ok. Perhaps it was just my dish but it was a little bit dry. I got the bolon con carne which is a National dish. I wasn’t sure what to expect exactly but I’d imagine the plantains would be more moist.

El Descanso del Guía was a nice place to acclimate to busy Puerta Ayora after arriving on the speedboat ferry from San Cristóbal. Located directly across from the pier, it's a lovely shaded open-air restaurant. I enjoyed a tasty bolon con queso, fried egg & cappuccino for only $8.25. Friendly and efficient service.
