This was our first dinner in Norway and I was not ready for the reindeer. Definitely an eclectic atmosphere. The decor is a hodgepodge of a little of everything. Fish, reindeer and burgers are the primary foods with lots of beers and wines to chase it down... What a great place! Fabulously over the top decor. Ordered chefs recommendation, 3 courses menu of the season, skagen toast, fillet of deer, cheese cake and local beers. Great meal, It was interesting lunch dinning experience. Specialy if you curious about trying something different in Oslo. We came here for dinner a little after 8pm. The outside seating area was pretty full, so we were seated at a table inside, which was really comfortable. There are an extraordinary amount of art and decor all over the walls and ceilings. It has a unique vibe. The servers were very professional. I ordered the Lorry's fish soup as a starter, which had a large amount of shrimp, large chunks of fish and what looked to be crayfish. It tasted great, and the bread was also rich with grains. For the main, I got the reindeer patties and the portion was quite big. The patties were cooked perfectly -- flavorful and tender, with a delicious gravy. I couldn't finish the potatoes since they gave so much. I also ordered the Bareksten which was a really refreshing gin & tonic. They also let you walk all around the restaurant to see the art and decor, which is pretty cool. This is a must visit if you're in Oslo.

Came here after a long weekend away from civilization. It was our last night in Oslo and we were looking for a restaurant serving traditional Norwegian food and we found Lorry. This place is massive with outdoor seating, and indoor seating that could probably fit 100 people. The decor is so eccentric and exotic. There's animals, art work, statues, and other crazy antiques decorating the restaurant. It felt cozy coming in. The service was great too. We had two different people help us. An Asian waitress who was very kind and helped us get started on our dinner when our original server got flooded with other tables. And a tall Norwegian man who was the manager of the restaurant. He was great to talk with about our travels and music. Thank you to both of them for making our dinner a great one. The food here was amazing! The fish soup was OUTSTANDING. It's a must try. It's a creamy soup, almost like a chowder with fish and other seafood. We ordered the big and shared it among the 4 of us and it was perfect. I neeeed to come back just for the fish soup. The other dishes were big and delectable too. The Filet of Reindeer was yummy but tiny. It was good to try. The mussels were yummy too but I regret not getting the hamburger. It sounded scrumptious so I definitely have to come back for that. Great dining experience here in Oslo. It definitely was a highlight of our trip!
