We went out here for my mother in laws birthday and we had an absolutely wonderful time! The food was amazing, and the portion sizes were fantastic in fact I probably could have only ordered a main and desert and been content. Our server for the night was Vanessa who was incredibly personable, joking around and creating a very inviting atmosphere. When we were struggling to pick from the menus she was able to give us tips on selecting what would best suit us and she was spot on. We will definitely be back!

I’ve sat on this review for a couple of weeks now to be fair and thoughtful but unfortunately, my friend and I left this restaurant feeling quite disappointed. From the moment we sat down, the service felt rushed and overbearing. I appreciate efficiency, but we weren’t even given a moment to properly look over the menu before being asked for our order. On a brighter note, our cocktails were a delight beautifully made and a promising start to what we hoped would be a lovely evening. The food also arrived promptly, which we both appreciated. However, that’s where the positives ended. The salmon tasted unpleasantly off more reminiscent of tinned cat food than a fresh dish and the scallops were diced into strange, slimy chunks that didn’t do the ingredient justice. Nothing about the meal felt balanced or enjoyable, which was such a letdown after the promising beginning. We ordered two lychee martinis to finish, but they were so overpowering in alcohol that even my friend, who adores lychee martinis, couldn’t get through hers. Overall, the experience just missed the mark entirely a night that started with hope ended in disappointment.

5 ⭐️ from our group of 14. We did the “cook your catch” option for a 60th birthday dinner, which we cannot recommend enough. For $35pp the chefs spoke with us on how we would like the fish prepared and what our preferences were. The side dishes included were absolutely delicious and very filling. A huge thank you to Chef Darren, Koji, Hayley, Eric & our waitress Rose. The customer service was top tier. Everyone was extremely accomodating and super friendly. We will definitely be back

Chef Darren made our day cooking up a range of tasty dishes with our fresh caught fish from our Paradise Sport Fishing charter that morning. Marie topped the experience off with her great table service. Thanks team!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Backyard and it was an unforgettable experience. We had arranged months in advance to have the fish we caught on a charter boat cooked for a group of 20 people. From the moment we made the booking to dropping off the fish at the kitchen, everything was incredibly seamless. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and immediately asked how we would like the fish prepared for our group. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. When the food arrived, we were blown away by the presentation — it was absolutely stunning. But even more impressive was the taste. The fish was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and paired with fantastic accompaniments. The entire experience, from start to finish, was exceptional, and The Backyard truly made our celebration memorable. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for top-tier food and service in a welcoming atmosphere.
