Fantastic place. It's very small and intimate and we were the only patrons there at lunchtime. The owner/chef is lovely, his English is pretty good. He does everything himself from cooking and making drinks! The food was very different for Japan and the green curry was flavoursome and the gold leaf Sake was wonderful. Highly recommend for something different. It stated non smoking on Tabelog app but there was a guy sitting at the counter vaping which was a bit disappointing as I picked it specifically because I have a lung disease and need to avoid smoke/vape vapours. Delicious curry made fresh to order! I really enjoyed my visit to Calibar Hiroshima. Tucked away in a second floor shop, enjoy delicious, made to order curry that has the perfect blend of savory, spice, and sweet. The chicken was tender and juicy and the whole meal just hit the spot. The shop owner speaks excellent English and they have an English menu available. The service was excellent and friendly - phenomenal hospitality. I felt like I was dining with a friend. I’d recommend this to anyone in Hiroshima hoping to get their curry fix! Such an awesome hidden gem. The food is excellent and the owner is so passionate and does all the order taking, cooking, cleaning, etc. himself. I would recommend sitting at the bar so you can watch him do all his magic in front of you. I felt like I was in an episode of The Bear, but the vibes were 100% positive.

Liyo is a fantastic chef who produced three of the best dishes me and my wife had during our two weeks trip to Japan. The fried oysters were light and perfectly cooked, served with a fantastic sauce. The mustard curry was delicious and unique! According to my wife it was the best bite she's had in Japan. The steak bowl was smoky and so so flavorful! Liyo was also a great host and we had an amazing conversation since it was just us at his restaurant. We'll be back!

We had some of the best curry at this restaurant. The owner made it right in front of us while chatting with us in English. He was a very friendly guy, easy to talk to. The mustard curry is a must. We also had some really tasty gin and tonics. Overall, a really great dinner experience. Highly recommend.
