Absolutely delicious food. The best mussels and burgers I have ever tasted. And the brownie was simply divine. Dreadful service, meat was tough, had to ask for my change as I paid cash and the attitude of some staff was bad. Coming from Johannesburg and used to exceptional service, this was probably the worst experience I've ever experienced at a restaurant located at a beautiful lodge. The manger/owner had an attitude and the staff are obviously nonchalant about their service. Food is also below average. Will not recommend to anyone...rather eat outside the lodge or make your own food. Prices are not worth the wait, attitude and quality of what you get.

Decided to try Kruger Park Lodge restaurant on Thursday 9/02/2024. Although the food was OK the waiting staff and service was atrocious. Felt like they were doing you a favour by being there. They definitely need alot of extra intensive training. The salt and pepper pots brought to the table we had to send back twice. First set ultra dirty (sorry I did not take a photo as evidence) then a broken set and thirdly a set that had also not been wiped. Is there no cleaning routine standard??? Staff were more interested in lounging around and talking in loud voices than being attentive and watching out for the customers. An all round lackadaisical vibe. Was an effort to get some attention, staff would walk past and not even notice that you were flagging them. First and last time the restaurant will see us.

On my our 1 year anniversary we came to stay in kruger park lodge.. Which is satisfactory on the accommodation. But the restaurant was extremely disappointing. 230 rand for lawn shank that tastes like nothing. Had to salt it just to eat some of it. Salting a lamb Shank. Ridiculous... and wife's bobotie was so eggy and had no resemblance to the traditional dish at all in flavor or texture. Miele like a mince omelet with salsa spice.. Then to top it off the absolute worst service. First time in my life I tipped below 10 percent as waitress had such an attitude problem. Would have had dinner there for the next 3 nights but now will definitely be driving elsewhere. Pity as the accommodation is really exceptional.
