This restaurant is inside the hotel in Numgwi, it is in front of the sea. The atmosphere is quite amazing. The food is delicious. We had the jewel of the sea plate, which is more than enough for two people. The stuff was very kind, and the prices are very acceptable. Highly recommended for an amazing seafood experience.

This restaurant offers a lovely setting with tables placed directly on the beach sand and others indoors with a clear beach view. You can access it either from the beach or through the hotel’s main gate. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. There were a few crows around, mostly near the beachside tables, but those tables were unoccupied at the time. As for the food — it was fantastic! They served us a small complimentary starter of assorted bread with butter, which was a nice touch. We then ordered the potato skins as a proper starter — crispy and full of flavor. For the main course, we had the beef & mushroom stew and the shrimp with fries — both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. We also had a fresh pineapple juice and a soda. The total cost for everything was 150,000 TZS, which we found reasonable for the quality and setting. The only odd thing we noticed was the presence of small black dots on our clothes. We’re not sure what they were exactly — maybe something falling from nearby trees or the roof — but it didn’t take away from the great dining experience.

We picked this place because it was rated as one of the best restaurants in Zanzibar. It didn’t disappoint! The seafood platter was so generous that we couldn’t even finish the lobsters! The atmosphere was quite sophisticated, yet chilled and pleasant, right on the beach. The friendly waitresses were always right there before we even needed anything. This place is a 10/10. Definitely among my top choices in Zanzibar, and a place worth visiting again!

Good amount of choices on the menu and the drinks were very tasty. For the price the food was lacking in quality. I had the seafood pasta and stir fried prawns and struggled to eat it at the seafood was very overcooked. The location is good and you have a view of the ocean. Service was slow with 10 minutes to get the bill after we asked and another 10 minutes for them to bring the card reader. Definitely account for at least two hours from your order to paying. No gluten free options.

We ordered coconut crab soup, the crab was not fresh, and fried calamari rings almost 15 USD, only 5 pieces. If this is what I got, I would rather tryout some places a bit more locally. or just lower your expectations.
