Duck & Waffle

Wonderful, tasty and everything you want out of a good dinner! I'd been travelling six hours, was starving and not even changed out my driving trainers, but still in my work clothes otherwise. I booked here on recommendation and i was not disappointed. Staff were the highlight. They were polite from the minute i walked through door and not once did they skip a beat with manners. It felt like being taken care of rather than waited on. They really help you settle in. They were quite engaged with any questions and i don't think my drink got less than a quarter full before it was replaced. The food was incredible! I went a little safe with the roast chicken but the flavours were very rich. I loved the new Golden Snitch treat. I'm not usually a fan of pear but found the flavours a delightful combination with the chocolate! I wish i could've had more cocktails but had a tattoo the next day. Great Cosmo though. It's really easy to kill a Cosmo with the orange and balance of liquers but this was pretty spot on. The atmosphere inside was very calm, sophisted and whimsical. If you like Harry Potter meets Cloud 9 kind of vibe, then this is is for you. I will definitely be back to try more on my next trip up and hopefully sample more of those cocktails!

We discovered this place by accident – with our finger on Google Maps... and the name caught our attention. The reviews were good, so why not try the unusual combination of duck and waffles. Thank you to the staff for their help in choosing, they were very nice and willing to advise, and it was clear that they knew their stuff. My husband ordered what the name suggests, and I had to try the recommended 3-course menu. The taste was fabulous, and the fries are the best I've had in the city so far! I wish you satisfied customers at least as satisfied as I was ❤️❤️

I chanced upon this restaurant while touring in Edinburgh, and found the menu unique and the food equally fascinating and delicious. Definitely worth a walk-in for a mouth watering and tantalising dinner on their signature dish, Duck & Waffles as the name goes. Thanks for the great service and lovely food. Enjoy 😋👍

Delicious food and presentation. I had vegetarian breakfast which had vegetarian haggis. The hash brown cube was yummy. Curried beans tasty. The poached eggs were slightly over cooked and small however overall a good quality breakfast. The ambience was great and not busy. There was live music which was very relaxing. There is an issue with booking for a Sunday Roast on the terrace which is indoors this should be clarified on the website. Our Canadian waitress was lovely friendly and attentive. The waiter assigned was literally somewhere else and may have been a trainee he had zero communication skills or any skill in customer service. He couldn’t explain the Bill.

My wife and I had a very excellent dinner. The service from Daniele was perfect throughout the meal, and every dish was delicious The mussels were fresh and the broth was super tasty. The broccoli was tender and the hummus with chilli oil was unique and went very well with the broccoli. The duck was tender and went surprisingly well with the waffle and maple. The waffle was super fragrant and crispy too. The salmon was nice and tender and tasted very good. For dessert, we had the caramel cheesecake and it was delicious too - it wasn't too sweet so it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. They also surprised my wife and I with a final dessert to celebrate our anniversary - sea salt brownie with dark chocolate. It was delicious as well.
