My wife and I don’t get out much - so when we do, it’s gotta be good. And ooooft did this place deliver or what! Extremely tasty food, sumptuous wine, service with personality and excellent value for an Edinburgh Newtown restaurant. All boxes ticked, it’s our new favourite. We will be back, when we can make it!

This was our third visit and we cannot recommend the restaurant enough. it is extremely central,only a five minute walk from Princes Street.The staff, food,atmosphere, are all amazing. If you live or are visiting Edinburgh then you should make a point of visiting Under the table,you won't be disappointed. A couple of months have passed since our last visit,but today was special because it was my birthday today and Under the Table once again was our Restaurant of choice to celebrate with all my family. As always,the restaurant was full creating a wonderful buzz about the place. Head chef Phil produced wonderful food that was absolutely faultless and absolutely delicious. So,I shall say it once again,looking for an amazing city centre restaurant with an amazing lunch menu at a very affordable price,then look no further.

A lovely visit to Under the Table on our four day trip to Edinburgh. The food was high quality, I was particularly impressed with my fish dish served on top of what I be remember to be crispy cauliflower/potato pieces which were incredible. I also enjoyed my wine very much, especially the very sweet, very tasty dessert wine. The staff were very friendly and attentive, but not so much you felt interrupted all the time and the atmosphere was lovely, nice volume of music accompanied by the chatter of a busy and seemingly happy dining room. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or revisit, a very enjoyable evening.

Booked for a colleague's retirement dinner and it was absolutely perfect - great ambience & atmosphere, fantastic staff & service, and the food was heavenly! Would definitely recommend (and return!) (Special shoutout to the spicy margs also! Delicious!)

I was at Under The Table for the first time yesterday. It was amazing, the lunch menu was really reasonable but with great food choices. The food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back.
